Eco Animal Health readies poultry vaccine market entry across the EU

ALN

Eco Animal Health Group PLC on Thursday said it plans to commercialise its poultry vaccine against the Mycoplasma synoviae bacterium in ‘key European markets’ starting from this year.

The vaccine, which will be commercialised as Ecovaxxin MS and claims to help reduce economic losses as infected egg-breeding chickens can produce up to 10% less eggs, was granted marketing authorisation by the European Commission in December.

The London-based animal health firm said it will leverage its existing commercial networks for the commercialisation of the new vaccine, and ‘has secured agreements with key strategic distribution partners providing comprehensive coverage across the EU’s major poultry markets’ representing over 220 million layer birds annually across seven layer-producing European countries.

The company said it expects sales of Ecovaxxin to be ‘immediately margin accretive’, anticipating a ‘material contribution’ to its earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation from it starting from the 2027/2028 financial year.

A launch even will be held with distribution partners from June 30 in Madrid and will be followed by regional launch events until the first quarter of next year.

Chief Commercial Officer Andrew Buglass said: ‘We are on track to execute our comprehensive and well-structured launch plan...across the EU. Our training programmes are being rolled out and our marketing materials are in final preparation...With a best-in-class product, coupled with strategic enhancements to our established EU commercial network, we are well positioned for successful market entry.’

Eco Animal Health shares closed up 4.9% to 107.00 pence each on Thursday in London.
