IN BRIEF: SigmaRoc’s SkreenHouse invests €1 million in Litherm

ALN

SigmaRoc PLC - London-based limestone and minerals company - Announces that its investment platform, SkreenHouse Ventures Ltd, has invested approximately €1 million in Litherm Technologies GmbH’s €6.5 million seed financing round. Says Litherm is working to develop electric calcination technology to enable lime and cement production without carbon dioxide emissions. Says the funding round builds on existing cooperation between Litherm and industry partners, including SigmaRoc’s German business Fels-Werke, which it says is providing a site and material supply for the construction and operation of a pilot plant to test the technology under real-world conditions.

‘We support technologies that enable meaningful industrial decarbonisation while maintaining economic viability,’ comments SkreenHouse Manager Ludovic Emsen. ‘Litherm’s fully electric calcination process and integrated CO2 capture approach is an important step forward for the industry.’
