Great Southern Copper says results confirm growth of Mostaza discovery

ALN

Great Southern Copper PLC on Tuesday said new drilling results showed the ‘strong growth potential’ of the Mostaza copper-silver discovery in Chile.

The Chile-focused copper, gold and silver explorer reported partial assay results for hole CNG25-DD042 from its phase three drilling programme at the Cerro Negro prospect, part of the Especularita project in Chile.

The firm reported intercepts of 21.8 metres at 1.04% copper and 52.26 grams of silver per tonne.

It said planning for fully funded phase four resources and exploration drilling is in progress.

Great Southern Copper holds an option to 100% of the Cerro Negro project including the Mostaza mine.

‘These latest results for step-out hole DD042 continue to demonstrate the strong growth potential of the Mostaza copper-silver discovery,’ said Chief Executive Officer Sam Garrett.

‘Intersecting mineralisation at this distance from the historic workings provides further evidence that the Mostaza fault zone hosts a much broader mineralised footprint than originally recognised and emphasises the significant exploration upside still to be tested along this emerging trend.’

Shares in Great Southern Copper were up 8.3% at 2.60 pence on Tuesday afternoon in London.
