SMALL-CAP WINNERS & LOSERS: Nuformix down after £1.0 million placing

ALN

The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers among London Main Market small-caps on Wednesday.

----------

SMALL-CAP - WINNERS

----------

Zenith Energy Ltd, up 19% at 5.38 pence, 12-month range 2.20p-17.50p. The Calgary, Canada-based oil company, which has interests in Italy, Tunisia and the US says Tunisia does not submit a response to its annulment application but instead files a submission with the Swiss Court contesting jurisdiction. Zenith says it continues to monitor the proceedings and will provide further updates as appropriate.

----------

Rainbow Rare Earths Ltd, up 9.6% at 28.5p, 12-month range 9.00p-28.99p. The developer of the Phalaborwa rare earths project in South Africa and the Uberaba project in Brazil signs a development agreement with Mosaic to advance the Uberaba project in Brazil through pre-feasibility and definitive feasibility studies, with the parties targeting first production in 2030. Rainbow says an economic assessment confirms Uberaba as a long-life, high-margin rare earth element producer and that it will negotiate heads of terms for a joint venture under which Mosaic will hold a 51% interest.

----------

SMALL-CAP - LOSERS

----------

Nuformix PLC, down 28% at 0.22p, 12-month range 0.068p-0.56p. The London-based developer of treatments for fibrosis and oncology raises £1.0 million through a placing of 500.0 million shares at 0.20 pence each. Nuformix says the proceeds are to fund additional pre-clinical studies for its NXP002 inhaled treatment programme targeting idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and progressive pulmonary fibrosis, as well as general corporate purposes. Admission of the new shares is expected around March 17.

----------

NextEnergy Solar Fund Ltd, down 13% at 47.56p, 12-month range 44.15p-78.77p. Shares in the Guernsey-based specialist investor in solar energy and energy storage fall despite RBC Capital Markets raising its price target to 6,500 pence from 6,000 pence and reiterating an ’outperform’ rating.
