SMALL-CAP WINNERS & LOSERS: Cloudbreak nears drill programme approval

ALN

The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers among London Main Market small-caps on Friday.

----------

SMALL-CAP - WINNERS

----------

Cloudbreak Discovery PLC, up 29% at 0.55 pence, 12-month range 1.40p-0.08p. The gold and metals project developer targeting Western Australia says planning is underway for an initial 3,000 to 5,000 metre drilling programme at the Darlot West gold project. It says a programme of work application has been submitted to the Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration, which is expected to be granted in the coming weeks. Cloudbreak says it believes there is ‘very significant potential’ for the project to host ‘significant’ gold mineralisation.

----------

Smarter Web Co PLC, up 7.0% at 35.08p, 12-month range 44.00p-28.00p. The website design agency with a bitcoin treasury strategy says Chief Financial Officer Albert Soleiman will resign as a director immediately and will step down as CFO ‘following an orderly handover period’. Former CFO and current Financial Controller Mario Visconti will assume the role of interim CFO. The firm says it intends to appoint a CFO in due course.

----------

SMALL-CAP - LOSERS

----------

Nostrum Oil & Gas PLC, down 16% at 2.50p, 12-month range 5.40p-2.50p. The firm, which operates gas processing facilities and an export hub in north-west Kazakhstan, continues to fall amid uncertainty about the flow of oil out of the Middle East, as the Strait of Hormuz remains effectively closed. Brent oil was trading slightly lower at $110.07 a barrel on Friday morning from $110.46 on Thursday.

----------

Cairn Homes PLC, down 2.8% at 189.40p, 12-month range 211.00p-149.20p. The Dublin-based housebuilder falls after Chief Executive Officer Michael Stanley sells 3.5 million shares at €2.20 each in a placing. Cairn Homes notes it will not receive any proceeds from the placing. After the placing, CEO Stanley will hold around 1.8% of Cairn’s issued share capital.
