Nanoco Group PLC on Thursday confirmed that it has settled a dispute with Shoei Chemical Inc and Shoei Electronic Materials Inc on its quantum dot patents. Nanoco and Shoei jointly submitted a motion to halt the litigation, brought in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia in November, last Thursday. The agreement stipulates that both parties will be responsible for their own incurred costs, but no compensation will paid by either Nanoco or Shoei. Nanoco shares were down 6.2% to 5.25 pence each on Thursday afternoon in London. The two companies also agreed to a three-year truce on their intellectual property court fights. Nanoco said it will not pursue legal actions against Shoei for the use of its current and future quantum dot patents for the display field. In return, Shoei will allow Nanoco to use its own current and future quantum dot patents for the sensing field. All other terms of the agreement remain confidential. Copyright 2026 Alliance News Ltd.
