IN BRIEF: Sika eyes Central Asia growth with new Kyrgyzstan business

ALN

Sika AG - Baar, Switzerland-based speciality chemicals company - Announces plans to establish a new subsidiary in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, increasing its global network to 103 subsidiaries. Says Kyrgyzstan is one of Central Asia’s fastest-growing economies with a 2026 to 2030 average GDP growth forecast of about 7% annually, and with key growth drivers including investments in infrastructure and energy projects, and industrial construction projects. Such initiatives have received ‘significant support’ from international financial institutions, Sika notes. The new Kyrgyzstan business brings direct access to this market, with its ‘reliable demand momentum in the construction industry,’ which Sika says will enable its involvement in construction projects from an early stage. It will also allow Sika to ‘gear its product portfolio in a targeted manner to local market requirements and customer needs.’

‘With the establishment of a local organisation in Kyrgyzstan, we are complementing our existing activities in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan and thus strengthening our regional network in Central Asia,’ comments EMEA Regional Manager Christoph Ganz. ‘It provides a strong foundation for the targeted expansion of our market position in the region and for further growth.’
