Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust PLC and Baillie Gifford US Growth Trust PLC on Monday said they had been advised of upwards adjustments in the valuations of holdings in Anthropic, benefiting respective net asset values. Edinburgh-based investment company SMIT said its investment manager, Baillie Gifford & Co Ltd, advised of the upward adjustment which has been reflected in the net asset value which as of Friday stood at 1,401.09 per share. Following the adjustment, the proportion of SMIT’s assets made up by Anthropic stands at 2.5% on Friday, compared with 1.1% at the end of March. San Francisco-based Anthropic is an artificial safety and research company that develops large language models named Claude. It has recently announced significant investments from Alphabet Inc and Amazon.com Inc. In a separate statement, Baillie Gifford US Growth Trust PLC said after the upward revision to Anthropic valuation its NAV per share was 324.18p as of Friday. Total assets made up by Anthropic stands at 7.4% as of Friday, compared with 3.3% at the end of March. At the start of the month, both investment trusts reported a boost to valuations from holdings in SpaceX. SMIT said its NAV was 1,316.12p after the SpaceX revaluation, while Baillie Gifford US Growth Trust said its NAV per share had risen to 301.12p.
