ALN

In late April, the company had announced its intention to undertake of its listing on the LSE.

Smurfit said: ‘As part of the review, the company carefully considered, among other factors, the level of trading activity on the LSE as well as the additional cost and regulatory and administrative obligations arising from retaining the LSE listing.

‘Following completion of the review, the board has determined that it is in the best interests of Smurfit Westrock to proceed with the LSE delisting.’

The company expects its shares to be delisted from London on June 22, with the last day of trading to be on June 19.

Smurfit shares were 0.6% higher at 2,697.00 pence each on Wednesday at around noon in London.

In New York, shares were up 0.9% in pre-market trading at $35.93 each. The company has a market capitalisation of around $18.68 billion.
