ValiRx PLC - London-based life science company - Majority-owned subsidiary Cytolytix Ltd has its European patent ‘Nanoparticle for Anti-Cancer Peptides and Uses Thereof’ granted. Notes the patent forms a ‘key part’ of Cytolytix’s intellectual property portfolio. Says the grant of the patent boosts Cytolytix’s IP position, and affirms investment in the platform developed over the last few years. Adds that it also strengthens the firm’s ability to attract external investment and expands licensing and partnership opportunities.

‘We are delighted to see the grant of one Cytolytix’s core patents by the European Patent Office, confirming that the platform is both novel and inventive, and I am equally delighted that we have now filed on our own proprietary position in the oncolytic peptide space,’ says ValiRx Chief Executive Mark Eccleston.

‘We will continue to expand these core patents with new IP developed using in house expertise at ValiRx and Inaphaea and we expect to further strengthen our portfolio with new filings in H2.
