BTG Consulting buys liquidation services firm MVLOnline

ALN

BTG Consulting PLC on Friday said it has acquired liquidations website MVLOnline.co.uk.

Formerly known as Begbies Traynor, BTG is a Manchester, England-based company’s insolvency and real estate advisory.

Tunbridge Wells-based MVLOnline Ltd was founded in 2012 and offers fixed-fee services helping business owners with voluntary liquidations, BTG explained. It will absorb MVL’s trade and assets into the wider BTG digital offering.

This follows BTG’s acquisition of the business recovery and insolvency segment of another UK firm, Lameys Accountants, which closed last month.

BTG has not provided financial details for either of the deals, but its Chief Executive Mark Fry on Friday said MVLOnline is well-established, and ‘offers BTG the opportunity to further invest in our successful digital platform’.

‘Broadening our digital offering to include this additional route to market enhances our group’s digital footprint and provides clients with access to BTG’s broader range of services,’ Fry added.

BTG shares rose 0.8% to 126.00 pence on Friday morning in London.
