Weir Group PLC on Wednesday said it has won a ‘significant’ pumps order from Lloyds Metals and Energy Ltd which it said shows the ‘strength of our technology’. The Glasgow-based engineering company will supply 14 GEHO TZPM 2000 positive displacement pumps equipped with GEHO Load Reduction System. The order, secured in the first quarter of 2026, is part of the second phase of Lloyds Metals’ slurry pipeline project at its Surjagarh mine in Maharashtra, India. In this phase of the project, the pipeline will stretch around 200 kilometres and add a further 16 million tonnes of capacity per annum to the project. Weir also supplied pumps for the first phase of the project - a 100 km pipeline with a capacity of 10 million tonnes per year. This pipeline is now fully operational. Lloyds Metals is an Indian mining and manufacturing company based in Mumbai, primarily engaged in iron ore extraction, sponge iron production, pellet manufacturing, and power generation. ‘This win shows the strength of our technology. GEHO TZPM 2000 PD pumps are purpose built for high-pressure, long-distance slurry pipelines,’ said Tony Hendriks, Weir, Global Product Managers, GEHO. While Lloyds Metals said it has ‘full confidence’ in the GEHO technology and the ‘addition of GLORES further enhanced pump performance and reassured us that it was the best solution on the market.’ No financial details were provided as to the size of the order. Shares in Weir Group rose 1.2% to 2,464.00 pence each in London on Wednesday morning. Copyright 2026 Alliance News Ltd. All Rights Reserved.
