Capita wins £54 million role in British army training consortium

ALN

Capita PLC on Tuesday said it has won a £54 million share of a £2 billion contract to run the British army’s collective training system.

The London-based outsourcing and business services provider said it will help deliver training services as part of the Omnia training consortium, led by Raytheon UK, a business unit of RTX Corp.

The consortium is made up of Raytheon UK, Capita, Cervus Ltd, Rheinmetall UK and Skyral Group Ltd. Capita said the consortium will deliver the collective training system in partnership with the British army.

Capita’s role in the consortium will focus on strategic training needs analysis, training scheduling and management and monitoring and evaluation of training effectiveness.

The firm expects to be allocated £54 million of the contract, which has an overall value of £2 billion and will run for 15 years.

‘Being selected to deliver training as part of the Omnia training consortium reflects Capita‘s proven capability in military training transformation,’ said Damian Riley, Capita’s managing director responsible for ACTS.

‘Drawing on our experience supporting the UK armed forces, including through the Royal Navy training programme and army adventurous training, we look forward to working with the British army to help evolve collective training and ensure readiness for future operational demands.’

Shares in Capita were up 2.2% at 238.68 pence on Tuesday morning in London.
