Bloomsbury Publishing PLC on Wednesday backed full-year guidance as it hailed benefits from ongoing AI licensing revenue and growth in its Academic & Professional division.

In a trading update covering the first four months of its financial year which runs to February, the London-based fiction and non-fiction publishing house said it remains confident in delivering full-year adjusted profit in line with expectations.

Bloomsbury Publishing put consensus for revenue at £354.2 million and adjusted profit of £49.9 million. This compares with revenue of £325.9 million and adjusted profit of £44.9 million in the financial year to February 2026.

Bloomsbury said it is publishing strong new titles in its Consumer division in financial 2027, and added the Christmas launch of HBO’s new Harry Potter TV series will introduce the novels to a new generation of readers. Bloomsbury is the official UK publisher of the Harry Potter series.

The firm said it continues to benefit from ongoing AI licensing revenue, while, excluding AI, the Academic & Professional division continues to achieve growth year to date across all territories.

Interim results will be released in October.
