The Chertsey, England-based contract caterer estimates that organic revenue in the quarter that ended June 30 grew by 7.1%, and in the year to-date by 7.2%. By region, organic revenue grew 7.5% in North America in the third quarter, and was up 7.3% year-to-date. International organic revenue advanced 6.4% in the third quarter and 6.9% year-to-date. Net new business growth accelerated into the target range of 4% to 5%. Like-for-like growth matches expectations, and Compass reiterates ‘confidence in delivering underlying operating profit growth of above 11% in constant currency.’ ‘Easing food price inflation and the timing of major events put a slight dent in growth outside of North America, while capital expenditure is expected to be elevated by year-end thanks to the costs of mobilising on new client wins. This prompted some modest weakness in the share price,’ AJ Bell’s Dan Coatsworth says in response. ---------- Mitie Group PLC, up 39% at 209.48 pence, 12-month range 214.00p-210.58p. The London-based outsourcing and facilities management firm has accepted a £3.1 billion takeover offer from UK peer OCS Group. The cash bid from OCS Group Topco Ltd values each Mitie share at 221.6 pence. This comprises cash of 218.5p per share and a Mitie final dividend of up to 3.1p for the financial year that ended March 31. If the dividend is paid in full, the deal values Mitie about £3.1 billion. Because of the takeover bid, Mitie immediately suspended its £100 million share buyback programme. Mitie also releases a trading update for the three months ended June 30, reporting a ‘good’ start to the financial year. Revenue increased 10% to £1.41 billion from £1.28 billion a year before, ‘including 4% organic growth driven by new wins, projects growth and pricing,’ the firm said. Contract wins and extensions or renewals totalled £1.6 billion, up 33% on-year from £1.2 billion. In addition, Mitie highlights a ‘record’ £32.5 billion bidding pipeline as of June 30, up from £31.7 billion the year prior. ---------- Mony Group PLC, down 3.8% at 196.40 pence, 12-month range 194.20p-209.60p.
