The fund aims to provide capital appreciation. The fund will be invested, at the Manager’s discretion, primarily in global equities and may also be invested in cash and near cash. The fund is also permitted to invest in other types of transferable securities, units and/or shares in collective investment schemes, money market instruments and deposits. The fund aims to purchase companies at a discount to their estimated future value.
Daniel O'Keefe
Daniel J. O'Keefe is a managing director of Artisan Partners and founding partner of the Artisan Partners Global Value Team. He is lead portfolio manager of the Artisan Global Value Fund, which he has managed since its inception in December 2007. Mr. O'Keefe also was co-portfolio manager for the International Value Fund from October 2006 through September 2018. Prior to becoming portfolio manager in 2006, Mr. O'Keefe was a research analyst for the Artisan International Value Fund. During this time, the team was nominated six times (in 2008, consecutively from 2011-2014, and again in 2016) for Morningstar, Inc.'s International-Stock Fund Manager of the Year award in the US and won the award in 2008 for Artisan International Value and in 2013 for Artisan Global Value and Artisan International Value Funds. Prior to joining Artisan Partners in May 2002, Mr. O'Keefe was an analyst in international equities at Harris Associates LP from July 1997 through May 2002. Preceding his days at Harris Associates, he was an associate in mergers and acquisitions at BancAmerica Securities, and was an analyst with Morningstar, Inc. Mr. O'Keefe holds a bachelor's degree in philosophy from Northwestern University.
Benjamin Silver
Benjamin S. Silver, CFA, CPA, Principal and Portfolio Manager. Mr. Silver serves as co-portfolio manager for the U.S. Mid Cap, Large Cap, and Global strategies, along with the Focused Value and Small Cap Focused Value services. Mr. Silver became a member of the firm in 2001. Prior to joining Pzena Investment Management, Mr. Silver was a research analyst at Levitas & Company, a value-based equity hedge fund, and a manager for Ernst & Young LLP in their Financial Services Group. He earned a B.S. magna cum laude in Accounting from Sy Syms School of Business at Yeshiva University. Mr. Silver is a Certified Public Accountant and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Caroline Cai
Caroline Cai, CFA, Managing Principal, Portfolio Manager, and member of the firm’s Executive Committee. Ms. Cai is a co-portfolio manager for the Global, International, European and Emerging Markets strategies, and the Financial Opportunities service. Ms. Cai became a member of the firm in 2004. Prior to joining Pzena Investment Management, Ms. Cai was a senior analyst at AllianceBernstein LLP, and a business analyst at McKinsey & Company. She earned a B.A. summa cum laude in Math and Economics from Bryn Mawr College. Ms. Cai holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
John P. Goetz
John P. Goetz, Managing Principal, Co-Chief Investment Officer, Portfolio Manager, and member of the firm’s Executive Committee. Mr. Goetz is a co-portfolio manager for the Global, International, European, Emerging Markets and Japan Focused Value strategies. He also previously served as the Director of Research and was responsible for building and training the research team. Mr. Goetz became a member of the firm in 1996. Prior to joining Pzena Investment Management, Mr. Goetz held a range of key positions at Amoco Corporation, his last as the Global Business Manager for Amoco’s $1 billion polypropylene business where he had bottom-line responsibility for operations and development worldwide. Prior positions included strategic planning, joint venture investments, and project financing in various oil and chemical businesses. Before joining Amoco, Mr. Goetz had been employed by The Northern Trust Company and Bank of America. He earned a B.A. summa cum laude in Mathematics and Economics from Wheaton College and an M.B.A from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University.
John Mahedy
John P. Mahedy is the Co-CIO and Research Director at Sanders Capital. John previously served as CIO of U.S. Value Equities at AllianceBernstein. He also served as AllianceBernstein’s Director of Research for U.S. Value Equities. Prior to that, John was a senior research analyst at Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. He also covered oil services at Morgan Stanley. John was ranked among the top five oil analysts in the Reuters and Greenwich Associates polls in 1999 and 2000. He was included in the Institutional Investor All-America Research Team in 1993, 1994 and 1995. John began his career as a senior auditor with Peat Marwick Main & Co.
Lew Sanders
Lewis A. Sanders is the founder, CEO, and Co-CIO of Sanders Capital, LLC. Lew was formerly Chairman and CEO of Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. and AllianceBernstein after its merger. In his 32 years at Bernstein, Lew was also the President and COO, with senior responsibility for all research and investment management operations, and previously Research Director. Lew joined Bernstein in 1968 as a Research Analyst; and was included in the Institutional Investor All-America Research Team four times. He serves as a board member of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Weill Cornell Medicine; and as a trustee of The Rockefeller University, The Aspen Art Museum, and The Aspen Institute.
