Fund Objective
The CFIC Octopus UK Micro Cap Growth Fund aims to achieve capital growth by investing in a portfolio of 40–70 high-quality UK smaller companies quoted on the Official List of the main market of the London Stock Exchange, AIM and ISDX markets. Over 70% of quoted UK companies have a market value of less than £100 million, and in comparison with larger companies, this is a relatively underresearched area of the UK market. We believe that this smaller end of the market is becoming increasingly inefficient, providing the opportunity to invest in fast-growing companies at attractive valuations which have the potential to offer investors substantial upside.

Richard Power
Richard has invested in smaller companies since 1995 and has been responsible for small caps at Octopus since 2004. He is the primary fund manager of the CFIC Octopus UK Micro Cap Growth Fund and oversees the investment process of the team. Prior to joining Octopus, Richard managed small cap funds at both Close Brothers and Duncan Lawrie, where he managed an award-winning fund.
