Fund Managers

Jonathan Greenhill

Jonathan Greenhill is a member of Barings’ International & World Equity Group and Co-Manager of the Barings Japan Growth Trust. Jonathan has investment management responsibilities for International Equities portfolios and is also responsible for leading the firm’s Japanese research and investment management effort. He has worked in the industry since 1994. Prior to joining the firm in 2009, Jonathan was at Occam Asset Management and prior to that, he spent four years as a Senior Vice President in the Global Equity Team at Lazard Asset Management. Jonathan also spent nine years at Royal and Sun Alliance. Jonathan holds a BA (Hons) in Political Philosophy & Economics from Reading University. He was awarded the Institute of Investment Management and Research certificate in 1996 and IMC in 1995.

Yon Chong

Yon Chong is a member of Barings’ Global Equity Team and Co-Manager of the Barings Japan Growth Trust. Yon has worked in the industry since 2007. Prior to joining the firm in 2015, Yon spent over five years at Kleinwort Benson, most recently as a Senior Equity Analyst, responsible for conducting global equity research with a particular focus on Europe and Asian companies. Yon was also responsible for managing the KB Elite International Equity Fund. Prior to that, Yon was an Equity Research Analyst at Fidelity, following six years of industry experience in the auto sector. Yon holds a Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College, London, an MBA from INSEAD and is a member of the CFA Institute.
