The aim of the Fund is to provide capital appreciation over the long term (5 years or more) by investing in dividend growth companies.
Alan McFarlane
Following a two-year spell working in local government, Alan’s investment career began in 1980 in the Edinburgh office of ICFC, a UK private equity group. In 1982 he joined Ivory & Sime plc, initially to manage global technology stock funds before moving to its UK equity team, and then becoming the director in charge of its institutional business. In 1993 he moved to London to run GAM’s institutional business. In 2001 he returned to Edinburgh to become CEO of Walter Scott & Partners Ltd, leading the firm before and after its acquisition by BNY Mellon in 2006. He left at the end of 2009. He is the former Chair of the endowment fund of the University of Edinburgh and holds a degree in Politics and Modern History from the same institution.
Gavin Harvie
Gavin joined Dundas in 2010. He studied at the University of St Andrews, graduating in 2010 with a degree in Financial Economics. After this he spent a short period with an independent Scottish investment trust. Gavin is a CFA Charterholder and a member of the CFA Society of the UK.
James Curry
James joined Dundas in 2010. Prior to that he worked for Smiths Gore as a Management Consultant before joining the Scottish Agricultural College as a Rural Business Consultant. James holds a degree in Agriculture from the University of Newcastle and a postgraduate diploma in Agribusiness Management from Robert Gordon University.
Katie Muir
Prior to joining Dundas in 2015, Katie spent over ten years at RBS becoming a Director within the investment banking division in 2010. There she provided financing and risk management solutions primarily to FTSE 100 and 250 corporate clients and worked on several large-scale infrastructure finance acquisitions and refinancing projects across the UK, Europe and the Americas. Katie holds a first-class degree in Accounting and Financial Analysis from the University of Newcastle and qualifications from the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (CISI).
Russell Hogan
Russell spent 17 years at AEGON Asset Management (now Kames Capital) becoming CIO in 1995 and thereafter CEO with responsibility for £33 billion. He joined Dundas Global Investors as a Director at inception, becoming a full-time member of the team in April 2012. Russell is a Fellow of the Securities Institute and holds a degree in Economics from Strathclyde University and an MBA from the Open University Business School. He also serves as a Trustee Director of the Aegon UK Retirement Scheme and sits on the investment committees of wealth manager True Potential.
