The aim of the Fund is to provide capital growth, that is, to increase the value of your investment over a minimum of 10 years. The Fund aims to outperform the average of the IA Global Emerging Markets sector over any 5 year period.
Sally Macdonald
Sally has been in financial services for over 34 years. She joined Marlborough in 2013 to manage the Marlborough Far East Growth Fund. Prior to joining, Sally worked for City of London Investment Management, was a Partner at Dalton Strategic partnership and led the Asian desk at Morley Fund Management, where she managed over £3.4bn in assets. She has also held positions as an Associate Director at Sanwa International, Head of Asia Pacific Equities at Lazard Brothers Asset Management and ran the Asian desk at Canada Life between November 1997 and 2004. Sally has a BA (Hons) in Classics and is an associate of the CFA Society of the UK and the CFA institute and a member of the Pensions Management Institute and CISI. Until August 2016, Sally was a Trustee of the Royal College of Nursing Foundation, where she Chaired the Investment Committee. Sally is currently a Trustee on the Board of Helping the Burmese Delta and is a Partner of Stevington Partners.
Jing Liang
Jing joined Marlborough in 2014 and has more than 15 years’ experience in the financial services industry. She runs the Marlborough Emerging Markets Trust and also assists in the running of the Marlborough Far East Growth Fund. With a wide range of financial services experience, her previous appointments were at Mizuho International, JP Morgan and the Bank of England. Her responsibilities during this period have spanned equity sales and research, macro-economic research and compliance, across a variety of different Asian geographies. Jing has a BSc (Hons) in Banking and International Finance from Cass Business School, an MSc in Economics (Development) from the University of Bath and is a CFA charter holder.
