Fund Objective
The aim of the Fund is to significantly grow the amount you invested. Threadneedle Managed Portfolio funds 3 to 7 aim to provide opportunities for investment dependent upon different attitudes to risk. Threadneedle Managed Portfolio 3 has a relatively low level of risk with a progressively higher risk profile through to Threadneedle Managed Portfolio 7. The Fund is designed for an investor who is prepared to take more risk in order to improve the opportunity for capital growth. The Fund invests using regulated and, potentially, unregulated funds which aim to achieve their return by exposure to global equities. The Fund may also obtain exposure to bonds (which are similar to a loan and pay a fixed or variable interest rate), property and commodity linked investments. Commodities are physical materials such as oil, agricultural products and metals. The Fund may also invest in asset classes and instruments different from those stated above.
Fund Managers
Giles Gilbertson
Before the acquisition by FundQuest, Giles had worked with IMS since 2001, and has over 22 years experience. He is responsible for manager and fund research at FundQuest, as well as the management of all single strategy portfolios. Before joining IMS, Giles spent five years with Standard & Poor's where he worked first as Research Director for Funds Research in London, and then as Research Director for Fund Services in New York. Prior to this Giles was Investment Manager at JL Investment Management, having moved from his first investment related role in 1991 as Audit & Trust Manager with Alliot Bullimore Chartered Accountants. Giles is a member of the Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ACA) and an Associate member of the UK Society of Investment Professionals (ASIP) and CFA Institute. He specialised in finance whilst reading Business Studies at CCAT from 1984-1987.
