Fund Objective

To provide long term growth principally through capital growth as well as income from a portfolio of investments.The sub-fund will primarily invest in quoted companies listed on Asia Pacific excluding Japanese markets. Asia Pacific markets, ex Japan are those which are defined as such by either of MSCI, FTSE or equivalent future index provider.The sub-fund may also invest in collective investment schemes (restricted to 10%), cash, money market instruments, and other transferable securities (including unlisted and securities outside of Asia Pacific) and, including collective investments schemes of which the Manager (or one of its associates) is the appointed manager.

Fund Managers

BlackRock Investment Management (UK) Limited

The fund is managed by Alethea Leung and Stephen Andrews. The portfolio managers are supported by the research team, which is comprised of 35 investment professionals (portfolio managers and research analysts) across 6 countries. Stephen Andrews is Co-Head of Global Emerging Markets Equities for the Fundamental Active Equity division of BlackRock's Active Equity Group. Mr Andrews is lead portfolio manager for the Asian Core strategy and co manages the Asian Unconstrained Strategy, Global Emerging Markets Income Strategy and Asia Pacific Income Strategy. He is also research pod leader of the North Asia Financials, Real Estate, and Tech pod and is platform lead for ESG integration. Prior to joining BlackRock in November 2017 Mr Andrews spent a 20-year career in the investment industry. During this time, he has worked (and had been based in) a variety of markets including Europe, the Middle East and now Asia. Prior to joining he was Head of Asian Financials Research and co-Head of Global Banks coverage at Deutsche Bank in Hong Kong.
