Fund Objective

The fund aims to provide capital growth and income by investing in a diversified range of assets and markets worldwide. The aim is for capital growth to be in excess of inflation (as measured by the Consumer Price Index) (net of fees*) over the market cycle (typically five to seven years), but this cannot be guaranteed and your capital is at risk.*Net of fees is after the deduction of the fund's ongoing charge. The fund invests directly, or indirectly through collective investment schemes, exchange traded funds, real estate investment trusts or closed ended funds, in equities, bonds and alternative assets worldwide. Alternative assets may include funds that use absolute return strategies or funds that invest directly in real estate or indirectly in commodities.In normal market conditions, the fund invests (directly or indirectly) between 50% to 80% of its assets in equities.The investment manager will seek to increase returns and reduce downside risk through changes in tactical asset allocation and portfolio construction.The fund may invest up to 100% of its assets in collective investment schemes (including other Schroder funds).The fund may also invest in warrants, and hold cash. In exceptional circumstances cash may represent 100% of the fund's assets.The fund may use derivatives with the aim of reducing risk or managing the fund more efficiently.
