I have just installed Trusteer Rapport on a friends computer, but a number of options were presented to me on Google search page 1. The IBM website installed Rapport without asking any questions. A number of other sites for download asked to select a specific Bank name before continuing! As Rapport works for all sites requiring a password / login, it just seems a bit strange to be asked for any bank details.

Haystack - 08 Oct 2015 11:36 - 10896 of 11003

It is really for business banking security. It has been around since at least 2008. Why did he want it installed?

HARRYCAT - 08 Oct 2015 11:46 - 10897 of 11003

To protect login details for on-line banking and also share trading. It's still recommended software by all the main UK banks and share trading companies and it is updated on a regular basis, even compatible with Windows10.

Since Rapport is a Free download, there will be different download sites for it,so do be careful ticking (or unticking) any of the accompanying boxes to avoid getting any unwanted additional software/add-ons/extensions/tool bars.

eg. ASK Search, Yahoo Search, change of Home Page, change of Default browser - that kind of stuff.

Stan - 08 Oct 2015 14:47 - 10899 of 11003

I've never heard of Rapport.

Harry when you say that "It's still recommended software by all the main UK banks and share trading companies and it is updated on a regular basis," Barclays who I use for share trading have never recommended any one to me, Is that because one specifically needs to ask?

Fred1new - 08 Oct 2015 18:08 - 10900 of 11003

Stan,

Try your banks.

I downloaded from a "bank" site using their security.

Use it on various site and Barclays.

Generally appear with a green "icon" before the web site.

Seems OK, used it for "yonks".

E-mail me if you and I will give you more info. if you want it!

Stan - 08 Oct 2015 18:51 - 10901 of 11003

Thanks Fred, will have a look later.

Mega Bucks - 08 Oct 2015 19:01 - 10902 of 11003

For security when doing online banking or infact when using any form or money related platform i use a Avast SecureLine VPN server, this provides military grade encryption while surfing the net.

Gives me some peace of mind, may not be the best but about as good as it gets.

Stan - 08 Oct 2015 20:15 - 10903 of 11003

How much does it cost or is it free MB?

Stan - 08 Oct 2015 21:21 - 10904 of 11003

I download it from the Coop below Fred but It's only for OS 10.8 and I'm on 10.5.8 so it won't allow me to install it.

Same again it needs 10.8 OS, but thanks EL.

Fred1new - 10 Oct 2015 09:42 - 10907 of 11003

Stretch your arms to the bottom of your pocket and buy a PC.

Stan - 10 Oct 2015 10:13 - 10908 of 11003
