Tweenie Hi,
I have been researching Stanelco most evenings and weekends for the last 3.5 years, and I can't think of a reason :)
And then there is the rest of the retail industry, I can't see them not going for it either.
And Starpol 2000 is now cheaper than petro-plastic, and it is a great bariier for MAP packaging, regardless of the several other benefits, I cannot see Wal-Mart et al not buying that to go with the Greenseal, and I'm sure anyone who asks anyone at HQ will get the same answer .... there is no 'if' .... it's just 'when' :)
Cheers,
PM

You state categorically that the food packagers have found this too expensive. How do you know this? Do you have irrefutable proof to this effect?
To convert from one system to another, takes planning, especially if a packager works for several retailers.
And there is also the small matter of budgets and financial years. Some may be delaying conversion until their budgets allow it.
With new technology, there is often a resistence to change factor that delays decisions. Take the advent of the mobile phone and the initial resistence to that as an example. Now look at the market. It will take time, but it WILL happen.
The above some of the more obvious reasons and there are probably many more I can think of.

Do you know for certain, that there is a "tens of millions of shares" overhang that the market makers are trying to move? Or are you just assuming that from the trades. Do you have level 2?

shamona, re: microwaveabilty of greenseal.......i have to say that was a very cheap shot. for someone who claims to know seo better than anyone here, that was hardly a well researched comment.

"Major steps are also being made in both Europe and North America towards the commercialisation of a number of projects, particularly those involving Biotec's materials and Stanelco intends to update the market with these developments shortly."
Enough said.

I have no expertise in tray sealing technology, but if I was asked to test RF sealed trays of the ready meal type whats the most obvious thing to test, er will it microwave without a problem. It's hardly rocket science, so no doubt its been tested to the ultimate for any conceivable way it would be used by the customer.
Can anyone possibly see the scenario of RF sealing failing the microwave test and the Asda technicians all sitting round saying to each other, now why did'nt we think of that. As Homer Simpson would say, "Doh".

I see from other peoples posts that the sham is still posting lies and total drivel .... too expensive my arse !!!!
Worst case scenario for companies using heat sealing instead of RF
Anglo Beef Processors
20 plants, each producing around 600,000 retail packs per week
Loses 360,000 packs a year at 3% loss, plus 45 fine per pack is 16,200,000 in fines
Oscar Mayer
Over 3 million ready meals a year
Loses 90,000 packs a year at 3% loss, plus 45 fine per pack is 4,050,000 in fines
Hazlewoods
Package 80,000,000 ready meals a year
Loses 2,400,000 packs a year at 3% loss, plus 45 fine per pack is 108,000,000 in fines
Northern foods
Package more ready meals per year than Hazlewoods
Loses a minimum of 2,400,000 packs a year at 3% loss, plus 45 fine per pack is 108,000,000 in fines also as a minimum
Grampian
500 machines tens of millions of packages per year
Loses shed loads too, in packages and costs !!!!
Asda cites the case of one supplier which produces 1m trays of meat per week and typically receives 1,800 complaints. Handling all this work creates a serious cost.
1800 duff packets, with a fine of 45 is 81,000 PER WEEK LOST .... EASILY PAYS FOR TRAY LIDDING AT 35,000 PER MACHINE DOESN'T IT !!!!

Now, how many times has this share share started going down, and then SEO pulls out another rabbit from the hat? Quite a few times I'd guess. Unfortunately the rabbits seem to die and everybody forget about it. I think I've seen enough dead rabbits for now. :(

TFC re 11009
Interesting that you "couldnt get though as they hadnt paid thier last phone bill". How did you get this explanation for your failure to communicate with them?
I also find this strange as I understand that in the event on non-payment phone companies keep the lines open for incoming calls to at least earn revenues from the paying callers.
Not a case of "pate de porc en croute"s I hope. Or even "frappant"

One issue that concerns me at present is that a hell of a lot of public expectation has been built up on SEO announcing some deals either in advance or during next weeks Sustainable Packaging conference. Have SEO announced this or has anyone heard that they will announce before next Wednesday? If we were to have the scenario where nothing is announced this week / next week then the sp will be roasted for sure. I also do not think they will get away with a "minor" announcement or one that talks about future deals, opportunities or work in progress.
Has anyone any views on if there were to be an announcement would it would contain and the potential value of such a deal? My own targets (prior to Starpol) were for 2000 Greensealed machines before end 2006 and I pretty much assumed other technologies (eg Frogpack etc) were in for free.
Regarding the sp I hope SEO are aware of investor sentiment. Does anyone know if Tom Bulford operates a 20% stop loss system with RHPS and what his initial buy price was. I am now making an assumption that all his gang will now sell as sp breaks below their stop loss and he will initiate this this week.
Also puzzles me why so called investors, who had presumably done research and believed in SEO at 20p + are now selling when there has been no RNS to warrant a sell off.
Not too worried about the lack of action in UK / Ireland just yet, I think managment will have made a decision early on to "box of" the ASDA trials, get things moving but then to focus all their attention on the US. No one with any sense would hang around the UK with US waiting. If it was your company what would you do?

Yeah dawall, RHPS tipped SEO a few years back at 4p(ish) and held until around the time of the court case last year. TB then tipped them in March 2005 at 14.88p.
As for stop losses, I cannot say for sure other than that he has several in the portfolio at present that are 34% and 36% down from their original tipped price.
I receive his weekly e-mail updates and have to say that I do not believe that he has any intentions of selling. If you look back at my posts on here and on FYB on a thursday night at around 6.30pm you will see that he is still certain that SEO will be a winner. Recently he feels that having so many products is muddying the waters but continually says that the current SP is a bargain bearing in mind that he believes SEO to be well passed the theory stage and sees Greenseal as the key :-)

Dawall Hi,
The RNS's from Biotec were always coming, they were issued to inform the market of the valuable IP gained by that aquisition, but I also feel that by releasing them one by one, Stanelco were building up towards one or more major deals (next week ?), the market has taken them the wrong way, so I now see Stanelco possibly hitting back with one major deal, and very soon after profit taking, an even bigger deal, that way no trader will have a clue which way to go for quite a while afterwards.
All IMVHO of course, so before the drivelling bashers start moaning about me again, we have a couple of weeks to see just how right I call it this time :)
Cheers,
PM
