I met the previous FD - and whilst I could not fault him - he was quite young and did not seem terribly confident in handling shareholders questions. I suspect that they are gearing up the board and need a stronger Finance Director who has been around and used to handling the likes of Walmart etal.
I agree with Stockdog that the likely scenario was that it was not his choice and the needed a bigger hitter on the board.

The great Bill Shankly said that if a job is worth doing, it is worth doing well, whether it is cleaning boots or a striker finishing off an attack by Liverpool.
If Stanelco is going to have a web site then why the bloody hell can't they get it to work? None of the pictures on the link posted by driver work as they should. It is only when you click on the the text below the bottom right hand picture that you see other images and those are in a never ending loop of repetition. It is amateurish in the extreme and they should either improve it or close the bloody site down.
If SEO do not release some really good news in the next month - hopefully after the 5th April - I shall begin to form the opinion that the website is representative of the true calibre of their management.
I worked for someone who is now in the top 100 richest people in the UK for almost 20 years as a consultant and he would never tolerate sloppy unprofessional management. Rightly or wrongly, he had a policy of "zero defects". Considering SEO's huge potential, I think that they should get somebody in to do a really professional site or close it down. Half measures satisfy nobody.

Hi all,
Just had a thought about the Frogpack website; Maybe they have totally devoted the website to Frogpack and petalpack for a reason!! Due to the fact that the floral expo is on, they maybe informing prospective clients to visit the stanelcoinc.com website rather than the .co.uk site. This may be a tactical short term move to impress potential customers once they leave the expo. But clients wishing to research other aspects of the company would, as per usual, be directed to the .co.uk site. It makes market sence in the short term to have a gucci site set up given the timing of events and I'm sure once the expo is finished, they'll revert it back to a generic webpage covering all products and, most likely, be an updated one as well!
Just a thought, welcome critisms.
Hunty.

oily it is a test site and bits have been added gradually over the past week, it is still not complete, even so i think its childish and the croaking frogs are so tacky.
may be hunty but they have taken 18 months to get here i think it is optomistic to assume that they will have group website sorted within a few weeks.
check out the biotec site for example contacts are still in german!!!

Hello All,
Read a lot of comment re. SEO's website. Has anyone contacted SEO and quizzed them about why it is so poor and when (not if) it is going to be rebuilt?

I think Stanelco have more to do than bother about some website that makes no difference to the companies results. If that's all you have to complain about, I'd find something more to do with my time.

There must be a large buyer out there soaking up all of the sells yet have seen no evidence as yet, only the way the share price is acting. Anyone see anything on Level 2?

Disagree Biscuit, i do not assume that the directors should learn HTML nor have a flashy world ranking website, in fact i would be happy if they binned it altogether.
BUT if they are going to have one make the god dam thing work, the BIOTEC contacts are still in German, i mean just take the site down if they cannot be bothered to rebrand it.
It would cost 5k to get the links working and the branding the same, but if a punter stumbles on to frogpack uk website the link to SEO does not work.
PUT IT RIGHT OR BIN IT.

Ahhhhh, so it is one person with several names posting about the website. Thought so. I suggest you buy shares in Amazon.com if it's a website company you'd like.

To be fair about websites, I have just developed a crap one for a business I am a partner in (if you want to know how crap, click on my greenhouse).
The point is that having the site is usually a precursor. You must have it up and running for about 3 months before it will be properly picked up by the crawlers and appear listed on a search. We put the site on long before it is ready, so that the readiness and the time the crawlers pick it up come together, otherwise we would spend ages developing a site, for it not to be reachable by a simple search.
I would sooner our site was visited and people say it is poor than delay its launch by about 3 months so that it was perfect from the start.

My god, you're right, I never thought of dial-up internet customers wanting to log on to their website. How many Greanseal sales lost?? I must sell my shares, this company will never get anywhere, reason: annoyed dial-up users. Class, I couldn't have made that one up!

biscuit, you arrogant prick. the web site is a shop window. it's been up and running a few years now and any problems should have been sorted out. i agree that it isn't the most pressing of problems for seo at the moment , but , as people have pointed out, interested parties will look at the seo website for further information about the company. if you are looking to deal with a competent , professional outfit then you would expect their website to reflect that. this is the modern world and it has become the norm for companies to have working, attractive websites to stimulate interest and sales. this is something that should have been taken care of a long time ago. it isn't the first time the crapness of the seo website has been brought up.
