BOS in answer to your question, I think 10p would be the tipping point for me. but do not see it going that low, esp if this news really does come, but v dubious.
May be i am worrying too much but the news that walmart are going to speak to Grampian and get it from the horses mouth scares the xxxx out of me, what are Grampian going to say, well it took 12mnths to get right it keeps breaking etc etc and we do not know for sure that it does work now, I mean why no news release i would have thought knowing SEO that it would have been shouted from the rooftops that they are now in full ramp, on the brighter side they may say well it seals 99.9999%, it lasts longer, its cheaper, etc etc and why take walmart there unless you know Grampian are 100% positive??
Heres hoping

PET is expected to slip
Purchasing January 3, 2006
Analysts reckon prices of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) resins will slide and then stabilize far below the recent peak because of decreased prices and expanding supply for key raw materials.
Bottle-grade PET resins spot price shot up 18/lb to 95 in the wake of the two hurricanes that rocked the Gulf Coast in late summer. However, most feedstock ethylene glycol and paraxylene producers are back on line, their prices have been returning slowly to normal levels. Bottle-grade spot PET slipped back to 85 in December. Thats why PET averaged 85 price for all of 2005, up from 69 in 2004; Purchasingdata.com has a 2006 full-year forecast of 84. Analyst Jeffrey Zekauskas at J.P. Morgan Securities says the PET market could be turbulent in 2006 because of fluctuating raw materials pricing. He points out that benchmark PET contracts set in November and December declined by a total of 14/lb and suggests a first quarter spot-price decline of as much as 7/lb. He says supply growth is expected over the next two years is expected to surpass demand growth, which could become a pricing depressant. "Recent volatility and historically high prices for PET are leading consumers to look for alternative plastics sources," says Zekauskas. "Applications such as food containers and sheet wrapping could see substitution of polypropylene and polystyrene."

2006 average PET price of 84/lb in my calculation equates to $1,848/tonne.
This gives a reasonable basis for comparing the cost of Starpol.

The spot price for polypropylene is approximately half the PET price.

I can't imagine SEO playing Russian roulette with their future business prospects in the USA by taking WalMart to Grampian if they - Grampian and SEO - were not reasonably sure that the machine they showed them in a commercial environment was not working close to 100% efficiency can you?

garyble - I think your maths may be a little off.
84c/lb divide by 1.75 = 48p/lb multiply by 2.2 = 105.6p/kg multiply by 1,000= 1,056/tonne ??
EDIT: I see now that you probably meant $1,848/tonne - correct maths, wrong symbolism!

Oilywag,
I agree, and I think the deal is almost done, the visit being just a way for Walmart and Tyson to confirm with Grampian staff, that everything is 100% OK now.

For ease of reference. Don't just paste the links into the box. Hit the linked chain symbol above the box and copy onto that and hit OK twice (first removing the superfluous "http://")
