Thought I'd start a football blog, we might keep this going until 2010.....England doing well....did not see the match or even the goals....I'd like Michael owen back in the squad though....and I think Peter Crouch would make a very good substitute...remember against Argentina in Geneva a few years ago....with Michael Owen and some very good movements on and off the ball...they caused havoc.....did see Scotland's missed chance....that could be very costly losing those 2 points !.

Trebs, how about the Rangers 'fans' running riot in Manchester after their team were well and truly stuffed in the UEFA Cup Final?

some expmaples of england's cheating....funny how none of this gets the same condemnation from the english fans and press
Paul Scholes Again
Kevin Keegan's first match in charge of England got off to the perfect start with victory over Poland in a crucial Euro 2000 qualifier.
But the game wasn't without controversy as Paul Scholes scored with his hand.
The Poles claimed in vain as the England players celebrated.
Michael Owen
The Observer newspaper ran an article documenting the best ten dives in world football. Michael Owen's dive against Argentina 'was ruled out for patriotic reasons'
Glenn Hoddle on Owen's 'dive' against Argentina
"Watching what happened I went through a range of emotions. I saw Michael touch the ball past the player and go down, and the referee give the penalty. I have to admit I wasn't convinced at the time that it was a penalty. It could have been from where I was sitting, but in my heart I wasn't sure. It certainly wasn't cast-iron. But my immediate reaction was, great maybe that's a bit of justice."
Martin Peters
In his autobiography Martin Peters writes about the game at home to Poland in 1973, which England had to win to qualify for the following year's World Cup. Peters was a magnificent player, and though I've never met him personally, has always come across as an upstanding man.
But 35 years ago, with England a goal down and time running out, he confesses that: "It was looking desperate, and in such circumstances desperate measures are sometimes required." He was tackled inside the area by Poland's left back, "He barely touched me but I went flying. I dived. It wasn't a penalty, but the referee didn't see it that way."
The resulting goal was not enough to qualify England for the World Cup. But Peters' frank admission should be enough to destroy any illusions about England having some natural monopoly on the concept of fair play.

the last time i went to germany to watch scotland was the game in Dortmund about 8 years ago.....we got beat as usual but me and the boys ended up late night drinking with a bunch of German students, we stayed with them the next night and they joined us on our travels to Berlin to continue the party for 3 days, these were probably some of the people the english fans were trying to kick the sh*t out of on Wednesday..............and people wonder why no one and i repeat no one likes the English football team or their fans

Celtic out !, they really are hopeless.....only Rangers left in the uefa cup, and they will need to play a lot better to reach the latter stages.....terrible lack of good footballers in Scotland at the moment.....need to be taught better passing and improvisation when they are young not the kick and push which you see all the time !, English clubs fairing a little better, might be annother year with one of the big four in the final !, I doubt if we will have an all English final again.....need a bit of luck to go with the draws as well as very good play !.
