THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

TANKER I've been retired 7 years now, still enjoy the trading/investing and good walks (when the weather is fit enough) been dire for outdoor pursuits this year.
Stopping posting, you could well miss a lot of the fun banter.

Tank,

If you are looking for peace and quiet close to the area you suggested, have a look on the Portuguese side of the River Guadiana from Villa Real up to Pomarao.

Beautiful, quiet and Villa Real and Spanish Ayamonte by Ferry. Lovely little towns.

Seville and Faro are fairly close.

I am a little jealous of you.

Thought years ago pitching up there.

Chris Carson - 06 Jul 2012 18:47 - 17527 of 81564

Getting a bit tense now, Murray is doing his best to capitulate every other game. 2 sets up looked in the bag, Tsonga has decided to turn up. 6-5 Murray come on ......

Stan - 06 Jul 2012 18:47 - 17528 of 81564

Why don't you try here http://www.yorkpress.co.uk/news/9796391.Pub_launches__unhappy_hour_/... and stay there.

Chris Carson - 06 Jul 2012 18:59 - 17531 of 81564

Has a better chance of beating Federer in the final than the other guy (can't spell his name).

Fred1new - 06 Jul 2012 21:27 - 17532 of 81564

Stan.

Have some pity on A. his only delight in life is stalking.

Chris - I hate to be pedantic, but I think he is the 1st British finalist since 1938!

dreamcatcher - 06 Jul 2012 22:46 - 17534 of 81564

Any investors here at the match either in 1936 or 1938. Can you please lets us know what year it was. :-))

Haystack - 06 Jul 2012 23:00 - 17535 of 81564

1938 for the finalist (Bunny Austin) and it was 1936 that there was a UK winner (Fred Perry). Bunny Austin was also the first man to wear shorts at Wimbledon. It was white flannel trousers before that.

Chris Carson - 07 Jul 2012 08:06 - 17536 of 81564

Ahh, first finalist since 1938,what a dismal record. Let's hope Murray goes on to win it.
