Have to disagree. The risk rewards on BLR compared to EME seem weighted towards BLR as Eagle is about p50 in the price now of EME and has not produced. where as Arce has. Baul & especially Monterey are company makers for BLR the latter would be on line much quicker than Glantel ever will. Not to mention the acreage differences as comparson. I hold both companys. Each to thier own mind.

regards and good luck on EME next week

Definitely no hard feelings, Cynic. I must say, though, that I was interested to see you posted on the Sefton thread - how would you say BLR and SER compare?

PS I agree that VOG is a good prospect - I have quite a large (in percentage terms) position in this.

Dr. Square - thanks for your feedback; it looks as if it's you, me and Bruce Rowan (not forgetting his lovely wife).

SEY is actually too small for me trade in in CFDs ....as i mentioned, it just makes me cross when peeps make wild statemetns without any apparent logic .... to be honest, i don't know enough about BLR and a couple of other heavy oil prospectors that i have come acroos with interesting sites; i reckon i have more than enough (and IMO, better) exposure in the stocks i have mentioned in an earlier post.

soul traders - 22 Apr 2006 19:04 - 241 of 1049

I see; CFD's aren't part of my plan so it's not an issue. Naturally there is a lot of speculation and wishful thinking on these BB's - it's only the deliberate denigration of other posters that gets me down though. However, when it comes to SER I think the fact that the whole tone of the debate centres around speculation and what the chart is doing is enough to put me off.

For a good coffee-time read about BLR, check out their house broker's report at

As a knowledgeble chap you might give me your views on the recent placeings Value 1.9 Million.

I have read the AGM presentation 19th December and looked at the Pie chart on expenditure for 2006. Monterey is shown as expenditure of 18% of 3 million. I have to say some of the splits on the pie chart seem rather cheap for the work to be undertaken.

The question is quite simple has the money been raised for Monterey? Many across the road think not, I am an optimist so think it has. What are you views?

Regards

Which means they don't see this getting any lower and from here on ....it's upwards right ? :)

moneyman - 25 Apr 2006 10:26 - 245 of 1049

I would hope so Sky. House broker has moved onto the bid now.

Oil Juniors is in the Hargreaves Lansdown Fortune 150. Here is what they say;

This fund is not for the feint hearted as it invests in S and M oil companies. Currently there are just 28 holdings in the fund. The Manager considers many holdings to be potential takeover targets for larger firms which are struggling to replenish oil reserves. This is a higher risk sector for experienced investors, though the rewards could be exciting ;-)

Fund Manager comment;

With Oil and Gas prices remaining high, the fundamentals for companies involved in exploration and production continue to improve.

Moneyman...thanks for the info.. as said BLR is highly speculative...but with institutions buying in it's a good sign...we should be alot higher in 6/9 mnths time (inho)

Dr. Square, I will have to give that some thought and get back to you (which alas isn't coming easily as I have a lot going on right now).

Off to the sun for a while. Hope to see the sp rising on a column of steam when I get back.

soul traders - 04 May 2006 11:29 - 255 of 1049

Have a good one, Dave. We all hope so too. Otherwise we'll have to come round to your place to drown our sorrows in your duty-free.

cynic - 04 May 2006 11:36 - 256 of 1049

sorry but fail to see that the news in any of these latest RNSs will have any real influence on sp .... As to BLR itself, I can muster no enthusiasm ...... Heavy oils are at the bottom end unsexiness for not only are they sold at a discount to light(er) crude, but even with modern technology, the extraction success as % of total reserve is again pretty low.

diydave - 04 May 2006 13:29 - 257 of 1049

Thanks Soul. I hope its the bubbly DF I open!

"Confess I cannot get get excited about BLR as it specialises in heavy oils which are unsexy to say the least, and for good reason ..... in a nutshell, though one may find large resreves of same, it is very difficult to extract economically and effectively, thus leaving a good % in the ground .... also heavy oil sells at a significant discount to light."
