Renesola - want to see huge growth ? Look no further !! (SOLA)

whatuwant - 21 Aug 2006 13:28

Read the latest interims.......just make sure that you are sitting down.

Chart.aspx?Provider=EODIntra&Code=SOLA&S

HARRYCAT - 09 Jun 2008 15:38 - 2522 of 3050

Shorters must be booking their next holiday on the profit from this one.
Back to 450p ish?

ptholden - 09 Jun 2008 16:29 - 2523 of 3050

Yep outstanding prediction Hlyeo, you called short at 575p and it shot up to 660p first, timing is everything doncha know :)

sivad - 09 Jun 2008 17:12 - 2524 of 3050

WHAT GOES UP MUST COME DOWN AND WHAT COMES DOWN MUST GO UP-ITS CALLED MAKING A MARKET.
ONLY WITH THIS STOCK THE REWARDS ARE MASSIVE BOTH WAYS.
I REMAIN LONG AND HAVE DONE SINCE MID 2'S.

HARRYCAT - 09 Jun 2008 22:46 - 2525 of 3050

I am not questioning your judgement, sivad, but why remain long on what would appear to be a falling sp? This has got to be one of the easier graphs to read with fairly obvious resistance & support levels. Or am I missing something important?

hlyeo98 - 10 Jun 2008 15:57 - 2526 of 3050

SOLA just gone below 500p...do not go against the downward flow.

ptholden - 10 Jun 2008 16:47 - 2527 of 3050

Time to go long soon ;)

sivad - 10 Jun 2008 16:52 - 2528 of 3050

HARRYCAT-a good question-graphs are a history lesson-they do not predict the future.
SOLA is in a sector which is the future in my humble opinion and that is why I will stay long.
Yes it hurts to see profits eroded, but they are only paper profits until taken.

I am in JHL and PVCS too so my risk is spread.Just very keen on the sector.

Falcothou - 10 Jun 2008 17:05 - 2529 of 3050

Is sola an energy company or tech company or a combination? Does it take its cues from oils or the Nasdaq or some darker speculative force?

HARRYCAT - 10 Jun 2008 21:57 - 2530 of 3050

I would guess it is an 'Alternative Energy Co', also falling under the 'Green' heading.
Nothing to do with oil, but subject to world price/availability of waste silicon.

dealerdear - 10 Jun 2008 23:01 - 2531 of 3050

hlyeo

On 23 May you said 'SOLA is clearly a sell now at 575p'. Well my friend you actually managed to pick the bottom cause the price went up to 660p. As has already been pointed out, timing is everything unless you are arguing that you will be proved right eventually.

Well, we can all say that. I guess my shares will be in profit eventually but it still doesn't get away from the fact that they were crap picks at the time!

hlyeo98 - 10 Jun 2008 23:08 - 2532 of 3050

Somebody is bitten by the sound of it.

dealerdear - 11 Jun 2008 07:14 - 2533 of 3050

No I haven't held these shares for about 3 mnths now.

cynic - 11 Jun 2008 07:31 - 2534 of 3050

if it were not that SOLA ADRs are quoted in NY, thus potentially skewing things in London, i hope i would have had the courage to short (easy one that, as obviously i have not!), as chart is showing southward journey to continue ...... no encouragement for holders today other than market generally looking a little perkier

hlyeo98 - 12 Jun 2008 08:05 - 2535 of 3050

opening at 489p now.

R88AVE - 12 Jun 2008 13:27 - 2536 of 3050

Maybe tempted to top up again! Test roughly the same lows in last three days so it looks like it has found some support here around 500p.

hlyeo98 - 13 Jun 2008 08:08 - 2537 of 3050

Where is the support??? It is slipping away.

dealerdear - 13 Jun 2008 08:14 - 2538 of 3050

As I keep saying this will never do what you expect which makes it extremely dangerous to trade

cynic - 13 Jun 2008 08:30 - 2539 of 3050

now you see the huge prob and risk of trading SOLA while its ADRs are tradable in US ...... only way to play (i think) is to buy/sell SOLA when London is open and to close at close, and then do similarly with ADRs.

given the dual listing and variation of "type", also difficult to determine whether or not the chart has even less meaning/reliability than usual.

dealerdear - 13 Jun 2008 08:32 - 2540 of 3050

agreed

hlyeo98 - 13 Jun 2008 11:29 - 2541 of 3050

Sorry, I don't agree. The chart showed typical weakness and I still say it will go down further although it may not be in a straight line.
