Thought I'd start a football blog, we might keep this going until 2010.....England doing well....did not see the match or even the goals....I'd like Michael owen back in the squad though....and I think Peter Crouch would make a very good substitute...remember against Argentina in Geneva a few years ago....with Michael Owen and some very good movements on and off the ball...they caused havoc.....did see Scotland's missed chance....that could be very costly losing those 2 points !.

Good morning all>
Flashercant remember the exact resultI believe from memory he got stuffed by several goalswhat is your point?are you judging his career on one gameHow about that same season he knocked Man Utdthe cup holders out of the FA Cupon your premise of one game that would make him the best manager in the country
While we are on about Man Utd.how about Alex Fergusons first season?well down the leaguejust one away winmedia predicting the boot.it was a good job the board didnt take your short term view!
22 years later as manager of Manchester Unitedhe has also won more trophies than any other manager in the history of English football.
Flasheryou probably have 20-20 visionbut you are a little blind.now you answer me a question
Do you think Portsmouths history would read better if Harry had never joined the club?................nuff said...

Do you lot have to be so rude ?....stick to talking about soccer !....surprise of the year to me are the Villa boys......they are going like an Aston Martin...get it !...Aston Martin (O'Neil) ....now with Heskey and if they sign Michael Owen for next season...well Champion contenders next year ?....I think Portsmouth are going down...does not look good for them !.

RF.football debates are often heatedI was not conscious of being rude or offensiveI believe flashers passion for his club distorted his overview of the Harry/Pompey sagaI tried to point out fact as a judgementbut all debates have their spin on things..

RF - Villa have certainly done very well this season (to date), but the idea of them being title challengers is stretching it, by anyones standards.

Tabasco, Redknapp lost his first game 10-0, yes he did get Bournemouth promotion but he also got them relagated 2 years later. He tries to be the cheeky chappy cockney but he taps players up look what Steve Bruce and Benitez have had to say in the last week?. As for West Ham and the young players he produced Tony Carr the youth coach at West Ham must take most of the credit for Cole, Lampard, Ferdinad x2, Defoe, etc and he is still producing good players. Redknapp was also sacked from his job with the Seattle Sounders And got Southampton relagated (but I must say what a great job he did there all Pompey fans will be ever greatful to him for that). Look at the money he has spent at the clubs he has been at.
As for Tony Adams this guy should be given a chance a young English manager we have no money and he is doing the best job he can, he may well get the sack but most fans are behind him at the moment, if we go down then so be it. As to your History Question as i said before we at Portsmouth have had a great 5 years but thats what it is History. I see somebody up top is reading my last post as it looks like Defoe is out for the season. anyway predictions for relagation please here's mine 1. West Brom, 2. Middlesbrough, 3. Newcastle/Stoke.

Flasher - Difficult call on the relegation front this year - personally I think Hull could be one despite their start.
Newcastle - may well depend on the activity over the next few days.
Stoke - Yes please
WBA - unfortunate, as they are a good club on and off the pitch

Under Adams Portsmouth won only two league games the last of which was against Blackburn Rovers on 30 November and Pompey were knocked out of the FA Cup by Swansea Citythey would have been relegated without doubtthe loyal bods have acted to give the new manager a fighting chance(now do you understand loyalty in football Flasher) I have pretty much been right about Pompey so farA. Curbishley will be their next Managerhe will also save them from relegation.just in the nick of time Flasher!

tabasco, The simple facts are Pompey fans didn't want him sacked Like i said if he did take us down then so be it the truth is sell Muntari, Defoe, Mendez, Diarra, Total 50 million then you are going to struggle. We played well and could have beat Liverpool on saturday the real people who should take the blame are Distin, Campbell and James etc. Loyalty is supporting your team and manager when times are shit ie going to Doncaster on a wednesday evening then working the next day. Unless English managers are given a chance are national team will never have an English manager. I am surprised you never predicted Scolari being sacked 3rd in the league 20 wins from 35 looks like Zola for Chelsea. Avram Grant is staying in a hotel down here!. ps Redknapp is a TWAT and always will be.
