Israeli Gaza conflict?????? (GAZA)

Fred1new - 06 Jan 2009 19:21

Will this increase or decrease the likelihood of terrorist actions in America, Europe and the rest of the world?

If you were a member of a family murdered in this conflict, would you be seeking revenge?

Should Tzipi Livni and Ehud Olmert, be tried for war crimes if or when this conflict comes to an end?

What will the price of oil be in 4 weeks time?

the converse is also true with regard to so-called Islam - not the genuine article ones, who would be happy to get on with life rather than death - and Israel (aka the Jews)

In The Land of the B - 14 Sep 2010 14:23 - 3532 of 6906

hey parrot,
Why don't you just cut to the chase - everything Israel and Israelis do is wrong and they shouldn't exist - everything the Palestinians do is right and only they should exist. Much simpler than spending your sad life trawling the internet looking for proof-aganda to parrot interminably.
Ever heard of women? They could add something to your life. On second thoughts, no, don't bother - there isn't a woman alive who deserves you..........however bad they may be.

Haystack - 14 Sep 2010 14:44 - 3533 of 6906

I agree with some of what you say. Almost everything that Israel does is wrong and Israel shouldn't exist. some of what the palestinians is not good and giving them their kland back might help that. By the way, I am married with a couple of kids.

pit ponies were never so blinkered ...... how on earth does a wife tolerate you? ..... she must be deaf or totally sub or both

from an Israeli web site.

http://www.vosizneias.com/32682/2009/06/02/israel-rabbi-harshly-condemns-violence-by-jewish-hooligans-against-arabs

Israel - Rabbis, Yesha Council members, and government ministers are coming together in order to condemn recent settler violence against Palestinians.

What happened yesterday is not violation of law and order its much worse, said Rabbi Menachem Fruman, addressing the torching of a Palestinian field in Samaria by what he referred to as hooligans.

In the past, settler leaders refrained from publically condemning radical settlers, and any disagreements remained behind closed doors. However, this time the rabbis intend to express themselves unequivocally.

There are camps that think its a good thing to burn the fields of Palestiniansit shocks me, first of all morally and also in political existential terms, Rabbi Fruman said. This builds a wall of fire between Jews and Arabs.

Meanwhile, former Knesset member, Rabbi Hanan Porat, has also joined the initiative. While condemning the evacuation of West Bank outposts, he has expressed his outrage in the face of the violent settler response.

The price tag response is immoral, he said. Its unheard of that one needs to burn the vineyards and fields of Arabs. Its immoraland it gives legitimacy to those who are interested in undermining the outpost issue. Its a very grave matter.

Targeting Palestinians and their property is a shocking thing, he said. Its an act of hurting humanity.

Fruman, who is the rabbi of Tekoa and one of the leading religious figures in Judea and Samaria, harshly condemned recent violence, which radial settlers refer to as a price tag for the evacuation of unauthorized outposts.
The rabbi is joining forces with settler leaders and ministers in condemning acts he characterized as hooligans committing the crime of hurting Palestinians.

She has my deep and abiding sympathy.

Haystack - 14 Sep 2010 15:12 - 3537 of 6906

At least I am not a supprter of some rabid group like ANL, SWP or UAF.

In The Land of the B - 14 Sep 2010 15:18 - 3538 of 6906

I thought you were decidedly ANaL retentive, parrot.

"fun" said tongue in cheek, mnamreh :)
As long as an individual like hey parrot continues to demonise and try to de-legitimise an entire people and nation, then I am not prepared to stand by and watch him do so unchallenged. Something about not standing by when you see evil......
Since he seems to spend so much of his existence trying to bait others, then only a taste of his own medicine is left as he himself has asserted he chooses not to be objective, rational or debate in a civilised way.

Correct in principle, but when the likes of hey parrot, fahel, clubbie, freddie boy can only post hatred then it is hopeless. Earlier in the thread I tried to raise the tone with some objective discussion, but you can't be rational with the irrational and the hate filled people of the world. They are basically fascistic nazis in the broad sense of the phrase, rather than National Socialists.
You can only communicate with such individuals in a language they understand.

cynic - 14 Sep 2010 16:25 - 3545 of 6906

ITLOB is absolutely right when the likes of Hayseed admit to being totally blinded by prejudice ..... there's no common sense or objectivity to be found in that quarter and from those of similar ilk

Haystack - 14 Sep 2010 16:39 - 3546 of 6906

Don't you think the Israelis are blinded by prejudice. They are probably the most islamaphobic nation in the world. Interestingly, the Palestinians, Arabs in general and muslims are almost devoid of anti-semitism. They are opposed to Israel and Zionism and NOT Jews.

m,
I think it is being overly optimistic and a trifle unrealistic to think the means of communication with the Hitlers, Stalins, Pol Pots of the world would have made any difference. On a pathetic cyber level, there are comparisons with some posters on this thread.
There comes a time when, regrettably, words of attempted conflict resolution are futile.
I suspect you believe all people can be reached out to, and all matters can be resolved by discussion. Frankly, there is a much greater probability of a settlement between Israel and the Palestinians than of ever communicating rationally with the people I mentioned earlier.
Peace will come one day and the two states will live side by side in relative harmony because it is in the interests of them both to do so. The same situation does not apply to those on this thread unwilling to set aside their hatreds and prejudices.
hay parrot et al will one day be left isolated and stupified by events beyond their blinkered perceptions.

cynic - 14 Sep 2010 16:56 - 3549 of 6906

here or in the real world as in attempted peace settlement in m/e?
if the latter, it is a sad fact of life that both protagonists contain elements that are intent on destruction.
that said, there is for sure a huge amount going on behind the scenes which will not become apparent for many years.
by that time, no doubt i shall be dead, either relatively naturally or just perhaps through the intervention of one of the international loonies
