Will this increase or decrease the likelihood of terrorist actions in America, Europe and the rest of the world?
If you were a member of a family murdered in this conflict, would you be seeking revenge?
Should Tzipi Livni and Ehud Olmert, be tried for war crimes if or when this conflict comes to an end?

"I feel Israel is satisfying the political needs of Obama"
Maybe that should have read "I feel Israel is satisfying the commercial needs of Blair"
The Mail on Sunday newspaper revealed that the international quartet's envoy to the Middle East, Tony Blair abused his position in return for money to process transactions for enterprises inside and outside Palestine.
According to the newspaper, Blair does not give much attention to the humanitarian issues of Palestinians, and rather he has been, since becoming a part-time envoy, preoccupied with his own personal interests and building his secretive business empire.
The Mail on Sunday explained that Blair mounted an intense political campaign to save the Palestinians telecom company, Al-Wataniya, from collapsing after Israel refused to let it use the radio frequencies it needed to operate, and pressured the Israeli premier and other officials to change their minds towards this firm.
It said that JP Morgan, the American investment bank that employs Blair as a consultant, has a financial stake in Wataniya through Wataniya's owner, the Qatari firm Qtel, which is an important client of JP Morgan.
He is paid not only by JP Morgan but also by the insurance giant Zurich, and his own private consulting firm, Tony Blair associates, counts among its clients the royal families of Abu Dhabi and Kuwait.
A frequent visitor to Libya, he has used his personal friendship with president Muammar Al- Gaddafi to explore business opportunities there on behalf of JP Morgan.
With ten rooms permanently booked at Jerusalems most expensive hotel, the American Colony, at an annual cost of 1.1 million, he spends a few days there each month, the newspaper noted.
The Mail on Sunday's report also had plenty about the longstanding issue around Wataniya as one of the biggest examples of corruption in the Palestinian Authority.
Reuters news agency had also unveiled last year that US aid in the form of loan guarantees meant for Palestinian farmers and other small to mid-sized businesses had been given to a mobile phone firm backed by de facto president Mahmoud Abbas and Gulf investors.

fred - most assuredly i do not need your blessing or guidance .... as far as i am concerned, and by the looks of it, a number of others on this BB concur, hayseed is hanged by his own postings as are a number of others

Cynic,
Some are blind to their own needs!
I think the postings of Hays more pertinent to the issues under discussion than your exposing personal rants.
Do try harder!
You may be able to do better!

"hoisted with his own petard" is the phrase but that would be beyond their comprehension, so cynic is quite right to put it in baby talk.

ITLOB - actually, you're spot on and i should indeed have used that phrase ..... for those who do not know, a petard is an explosive charge, so the phrase effectively means (of course) that hayseed blows himself out of the water

N,
I did understand your original point and the response to the topic is as I expected.
The level of vehemence was a little more than expected and level of discord reminded me of the kitchen sink schools pre-fight arguments.
With the intrangience shown, what chance is there for peace in the Middle East.
Perhaps, an idea for another topic.

as i said in post 3551 ......
ultimately it is the public at large which dictates events, though it can take an interminable time for it to realise that and to act accordingly.

Cynic,
Why was there a "public groundswell" which led to "peace" in NI at that particular point in its history?

fred - people from all walks suddenly felt brave enough to voice their disgust at the perpetual bloodshed and sectarian violence, and to state loudly and clearly that they wanted to live in peace
