Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

Not activating Article 50, a second referendum to stay. Apparently there ar no rules that say we can activate Article 50 and then change our minds while in the two years plus period.

Haystack while you might like a second referendum there are 17.5 million people who wouldn't .

No. I don't want a second referendum, but I wouldn't be surprised if we had one. I want to be out of the EU.

Maybe if you kept the EU out cap on instead of removing it depending on what suits a particular individual at the time . You are very confusing to say the least , stick to one side please Haystack .

a 2nd referendum would be truly preposterous and throw the whole exercise into disrepute
as one makes one bed, so must one lie in it

I have seen the games that are played in parliament close up. I was working in Westminster as part of Ken Clarke's campaign team when he stood for leader in 2005.

I do think a second referendum would be a mistake and would bring democracy into disrepute. That, of course, would not prevent it from happening.
I wonder what the feeling across the country would be if we go into a recession, house prices fall, unemployment rises. These are all thing that are on the cards over the next few years even before we leave the EU.
Only the last two days, two major Property funds (Aviva today) have stopped trading due to liquidity problems. It may be up to 2 years before people can withdraw funds from them. They may both have forced sales of their commercial property at low prices due to lack of business confidence.

If one makes a contract on falsified information, as could be argued has happened during the referendum, I think that a court of law may look kindly on the submission to nullify the contract.

Is this the beginning of the end or the end of the beginning or erm something . If a picture paints a thousand words then why can't i paint EU . It takes two to tango , What's love got to do with it .Virgin on the ridiculous .

Being reported that Fox will be eliminated this evening (no surprise) and Gove may quit.
It will be interesting to see if MPs vote for Crabb in the next roudn to keep Andrea out of the last two. If they do then they will have an all Remainer contest for leader.

This is getting ridiculous ,what is the matter with everyone ? read my lips, we are leaving the EU ,the British people voted OUT ,end of story.
And yes we could change the result of any future election if this was overturned .
