Yep still very much in. Did sell most a few weeks back on concerns of rights issue. Think I was posting with doodle bug about it.

Repurchased the lot and still nicely in profit.

Dont forget one broker with SP target of 155p now.

Starting to use sept contracts. Gives far more breathing space even if losing a point or two of profit.

HARRYCAT, I'm still hanging on as I see no reason to sell just because the markets are having a couple of bad days. The next two or three weeks should see this hit 120 - 130p - the only thing to stop that happening would be a constant downward spiral of the FTSE. imo And I can't really be bothered trading this share -buy/sell/buy, it's always been a long term hold for me since 22p.

Just a thought but do TCG gain entry to ftse 250? next week.

Supposed to be gaining entry goldfinger. I think the date is 6th March before we find out and then we have another statement from Harriet Green to look forward to on the 13th March.

Hmmm.....I suppose this may be the fallout (no pun intended) from the Egyptian hot air balloon accident?

Unfortunately quite a few muppet shorters are crawling all over various bulletin boards - thankfully not this one - claiming that the accident was Thomas Cook's fault. The balloon was owned and operated by a company called Sky Cruise and the people who were killed were on a Thomas Cook package holiday staying at a five star hotel.

that sort of "guilt by association" is often seen, but as far as i am concerned, it allowed me to buy back in cheaper at 88.50 than my sale of same a few days ago (94.75 from memory)

perhaps a little nervousness is creeping in with sterling likely to go lower and overseas holidays becoming rather expensive.

i'ld guess that TCG will have both hedged its money (room booking allocations etc) and priced the holidays irrevocably in its brochures

cynic you have forgotten the ever increasing surcharges, it will occur to joe public that two weeks in the sun are just not worth the price being asked.

like i said above, TCG's hols prices will be set in stone (i'm sure), and while they may lose some from the bottom end, they'll prob pick up from those falling from the upper

hali- i'm such a snob (tart if you like, or even both) that i've never been on a package hol, so i'm not sure if travel companies now even dare to impose surcharges

cynic neither have we but joe will know you need more money than the price of a travel package to go overseas whether it is through thomas cook or kuoni.

My neighbours are always complaining about not having enough money - "oh no, we couldn't possibly contribute to repairing the fence" - but they have already booked their usual two week holiday to Turkey with the children during the Summer holidays. I think Joe Public will just put other expenses on the back burner so that they can go on holiday.

Does TCG quote forward bookings.

At the rate the pound is drifting against the Euro I have a feeling the number wandering abroad for holidays in the short term will be lower than usual. That applies to the highs and lows of society.

Maybe wrong but I feel lucky that I traded in and out, but going back to watching for a while.
