HARRYCAT - 26 Feb 2013 11:58 - 544 of 1559

You guys still hanging on here, or been stopped out?

cynic - 26 Feb 2013 12:02 - 545 of 1559

sticky - and i'm glad i sold up here (banked the profit) a few days ago too - as posted!

skinny - 26 Feb 2013 12:34 - 546 of 1559

Harry - yep, still got some.

goldfinger - 26 Feb 2013 13:30 - 547 of 1559

Yep still very much in. Did sell most a few weeks back on concerns of rights issue. Think I was posting with doodle bug about it.

Repurchased the lot and still nicely in profit.

Dont forget one broker with SP target of 155p now.

Think its jeffries.

goldfinger - 26 Feb 2013 13:35 - 548 of 1559

Starting to use sept contracts. Gives far more breathing space even if losing a point or two of profit.

doodlebug4 - 26 Feb 2013 15:20 - 549 of 1559

HARRYCAT, I'm still hanging on as I see no reason to sell just because the markets are having a couple of bad days. The next two or three weeks should see this hit 120 - 130p - the only thing to stop that happening would be a constant downward spiral of the FTSE. imo And I can't really be bothered trading this share -buy/sell/buy, it's always been a long term hold for me since 22p.

goldfinger - 26 Feb 2013 15:29 - 550 of 1559

Just a thought but do TCG gain entry to ftse 250? next week.

If they do trackers have to buy.

doodlebug4 - 26 Feb 2013 17:20 - 551 of 1559

Supposed to be gaining entry goldfinger. I think the date is 6th March before we find out and then we have another statement from Harriet Green to look forward to on the 13th March.

HARRYCAT - 27 Feb 2013 11:18 - 552 of 1559

Hmmm.....I suppose this may be the fallout (no pun intended) from the Egyptian hot air balloon accident?

doodlebug4 - 27 Feb 2013 12:27 - 553 of 1559

Unfortunately quite a few muppet shorters are crawling all over various bulletin boards - thankfully not this one - claiming that the accident was Thomas Cook's fault. The balloon was owned and operated by a company called Sky Cruise and the people who were killed were on a Thomas Cook package holiday staying at a five star hotel.

cynic - 27 Feb 2013 15:44 - 554 of 1559

that sort of "guilt by association" is often seen, but as far as i am concerned, it allowed me to buy back in cheaper at 88.50 than my sale of same a few days ago (94.75 from memory)

halifax - 27 Feb 2013 15:49 - 555 of 1559

perhaps a little nervousness is creeping in with sterling likely to go lower and overseas holidays becoming rather expensive.

cynic - 27 Feb 2013 15:58 - 556 of 1559

i'ld guess that TCG will have both hedged its money (room booking allocations etc) and priced the holidays irrevocably in its brochures

halifax - 27 Feb 2013 16:05 - 557 of 1559

cynic you have forgotten the ever increasing surcharges, it will occur to joe public that two weeks in the sun are just not worth the price being asked.

doodlebug4 - 27 Feb 2013 16:09 - 558 of 1559

You must be joking halifax, after the last eight months of weather we've just had joe public is just gagging for two weeks in the sun!

halifax - 27 Feb 2013 16:13 - 559 of 1559

doodle can joe afford it, with sterling where it is likely to be in a few months time?

cynic - 27 Feb 2013 16:18 - 560 of 1559

like i said above, TCG's hols prices will be set in stone (i'm sure), and while they may lose some from the bottom end, they'll prob pick up from those falling from the upper

hali- i'm such a snob (tart if you like, or even both) that i've never been on a package hol, so i'm not sure if travel companies now even dare to impose surcharges

halifax - 27 Feb 2013 16:23 - 561 of 1559

cynic neither have we but joe will know you need more money than the price of a travel package to go overseas whether it is through thomas cook or kuoni.

doodlebug4 - 27 Feb 2013 17:13 - 562 of 1559

My neighbours are always complaining about not having enough money - "oh no, we couldn't possibly contribute to repairing the fence" - but they have already booked their usual two week holiday to Turkey with the children during the Summer holidays. I think Joe Public will just put other expenses on the back burner so that they can go on holiday.

Fred1new - 27 Feb 2013 18:19 - 563 of 1559

Does TCG quote forward bookings.

At the rate the pound is drifting against the Euro I have a feeling the number wandering abroad for holidays in the short term will be lower than usual. That applies to the highs and lows of society.

Maybe wrong but I feel lucky that I traded in and out, but going back to watching for a while.
