Any thoughts about on here concerning this?
A 15 yr old teenage (edit) 'BOY' goes on a school trip to Barcelona waterpark and then suffers agonising sunburn blisters from ignoring teacher's-advice
EDIT: Well, I thought you guys would go to town with your comments on this one.
The same article appeared in the Daily Express. Heres what some of their readers had to say:
Obviously the boy is over protected by his mother, just look at him.
And she gave him a factor 15? Is she just as daft as he is?
A factor 50 is required for his pale skin, which was mentioned to the parents beforehand.
The child has only partial sunburn, why is that? If he hadn't used sun cream at all, he should have been burned all over.
Again, a parent tries to blame someone else for their child's stupidity, and ignorance.
With so much skin and fat available the sun couldn't miss him. He probably gave good protection for the other kids who could shelter in his shadow! He will be loving the media attention (thanks Mum) and all the comments about breasts, bra's and (b)moobs!
Foolish child, foolish, neglectful parent. Not only is he sunburned, he is grossly overweight. Parental responsibility is not in evidence in relation to this child.
Don't blame anyone else Mrs Pritchard. Look in the mirror, that is where the fault lies.
always someone else's fault isn't it
next she will moan about her fat son and how it's some else's fault......
It appears that Connor learned a few things. Use Sun protection and do what you are told.
Youth advised to apply sunscreen, ignored advice, got burnt....his fault FACT
You just can't fix stupid. Sounds like he takes after his mother.
He is 15 years old, most people by that age should be able to think for themselves. The teachers warned him and he did not listen. He has hopefully took on board that some people know more than him. And that if he goes on holiday and the sun is shining he will either put on lotion or cover up or stay in the shade. As for his mother trying to defend him, no comment.
No comment from me on the chav mother, but to anyone going to Spain please note that any sun tan lotion below factor 25 is totally useless.
smarter than the average sheep
nice moobs fat boy................
Why do schools take kids on a trip to spain for a week, but if we want to take them on holiday we can't and get fined. And don't tell me it was educational.
If I were him I'd be more worried about cholesterol.
Just think....if labour, limp dems and SNP MP's get their way, this idiot and others like him would soon have the vote
Where is his bra? B cup I guess?
15 years old and doesn't understand the harmful effect of the sun.....needs his backside kicking. A Playtex bra might have kept some of the sun's rays at bay.
smarter than the average sheep
a typical example of the brain dead fat overfed cotton wool clad dumb youth of today.this fat loser is going nowhere in life............exept the chip shop.............
And with Labour would be given the vote in a years time.
This kid is a disgrace. His mother is even worse. Look at his physical condition, at his age he should be as fit as a butcher's dog and out playing sports. I bet he can't walk 200 yards never mind run 200 yards and his brain is in the same condition.
the playstation affect
When I first came to Australia I did get burnt by the sun, not badly but, being a very fair skinned Scot I didn't have to be in the sun long before I started to burn.
I have never seen sunburn leave such distinct edges except where clothing had been worn, if your skin is exposed to too much sun and you are moving around the burning is even, I have seen literally hundreds of cases of sunburn, I have never seen burns like this. The distinct circular burns on both biceps look strange for sunburn, the burns on his collarbone area also have very clear ''Édges '', it just does not look like sunburn to me. As far as I can see his lower back and his ''Chest '' are not burnt ??. Maybe he was abducted by Aliens, can't think of any other explanation.
So what! Most English people have got sunburt at some time in their life. The boy needs to toughen up, and quick.
Lady your kid is a fricking moron. You can sue when he dies of skin cancer and they'll tell you the same thing.
Britain is raising kids with jelly and crisps for brains. Shut up Mum! You raised a kid who needs some serious discipline. Just a few ignored the teachers. And they are all fine. The teachers could not touch these brats
Sorry, but I hope they suffer from these burns and the lesson burns itself into their memories. Ignorant kids. + ignorant parents - trips to hospitals.
Dumb, dumber, dumbest.
So, just to be sure I have this correctly...
Mommy raised an idiot who can't equate heat and sun exposure to getting burned.
Said idiot ignores both repeated warnings from teachers and the examples set by classmates.
Idiot gets burned to the point of requiring medical attention.
Mommy, to show that idiocy is indeed hereditary, then proceeds to blame anyone/everyone else, rather than herself and her idiot son.
Bottom line...son should have used protection. Come to think of it, the mother should have, too...then we wouldn't be hearing about this kid at all. :D
That's not a sunburn. Its a chemical burn. It follows a pour pattern, instead of a wide-area homogeneous exposure pattern.
I know burns. I worked with them. Those are burns fella, shut gob if illl-informed.
I'm not saying its not a burn. I'm saying its not caused by the sun.
If homeboy had put on "any" sunscreen, the most common areas are the exact places he is burned. Those are some pretty sharp demarcations for someone who did not have any protection, considering his neck.
I am guessing someone got into something nasty and tossed it on him, and used the "sunburn" excuse to cover it up.
WHAT!!! you knew RABBIE BURNS????? how old are you?
Self inflicted injury I'm afraid. He was warned and ignored the warning, now his mother is looking for a solicitor who will take on the case for compensation. There's a lot of this lad to be sunburned, he already has bigger breasts than my wife.
When I was in the US Navy we had a guy go on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier and take off his shirt to work on a plane when we were around the equator. He got hand sized blisters on his back.
Poor baby.
