In all fairness I don't think anyone can keep up with this, not even Zak Mir !

cynic - 14 Mar 2013 16:55 - 686 of 1559

to avoid being called something not very complimentary, i shall merely comment that i am very happy indeed with my course of action today :-) ....... and even more so with C+M Index which i have been "ramping" for a little while

goldfinger - 14 Mar 2013 17:22 - 687 of 1559

Why what did you do cyners??

cynic - 14 Mar 2013 17:50 - 688 of 1559

not allowed to say, as shall be (rightly) told off for being clever after the event

HARRYCAT - 14 Mar 2013 18:12 - 689 of 1559

In post #670 he abandoned his short, on the advice of his peers (!!!! ;o) ) and presumably went long?

cynic - 14 Mar 2013 18:19 - 690 of 1559

i didn't say a word :-)

mitzy - 14 Mar 2013 20:03 - 691 of 1559

Great performer today.

doodlebug4 - 14 Mar 2013 20:06 - 692 of 1559

Harriet Green on the Jeff Randall show tonight - an impressive performance, not too over the top, balanced, professional, considered, and she looks good too. A couple of tips for George Osborne to finish with at the end of the interview - all things considered she could do George's job with her hands tied behind her back, but she's far too intelligent to be a politician.

GF - see the CAPE (CIU) & POG threads.

Further to my article on the current
SHORT POSITIONING yesterday which included
the overal picture, its worth looking at now
Institutional short positions and the current
state of play.

Fund manager % short Change Date changed/created

Oxford Asset Management 0.59% ↓ -0.08% 2012-12-27
Sothic Capital Management LLP 1.48% ↓ -0.10% 2013-03-13

Link below shows chart and how the number of

Interesting to click on the % short column and see how
each Instiution has off-loaded stock over the last
few months.

Fantastic for those of us who are LONG.

cynic - 15 Mar 2013 08:23 - 697 of 1559

profit-taking likely today - like me who is now out

thanks for talking some sense into me yesterday guys :-)

HARRYCAT - 15 Mar 2013 08:24 - 698 of 1559

Think I will try & squeeze a few more pence out of this. 130p was my original target & I think that should be achievable.

[Really good website, gf, for the short positions.]

cynic - 15 Mar 2013 08:40 - 699 of 1559

don't get too silly harry .... i know you have a thumping profit so think seriously of banking at least some

==============

shame i didn't reverse when i sold, but that would have been very brave - foolhardy if i'm honest :-)

HARRYCAT - 15 Mar 2013 08:50 - 700 of 1559

Cheers Mr. C. Greed now taking over from good fortune! Just nice to have some good profit at last & nicely protected from the tax man in my stock ISA. I assume the day traders will now pump this back up again?

goldfinger - 15 Mar 2013 08:56 - 701 of 1559

Given 20% back...... drat.

Think your right Harry.

cynic - 15 Mar 2013 08:58 - 702 of 1559

personally, i would assume nothing of the sort ..... even in the last 10 days, sp has had a HUGE rise

further, i am of the opinion that the markets in general are due for a sharp retrenchment ...... dow has now risen for 10 straight days (i think), and it is also already at a critical point where a reaction is (over)due .... i'm already short there and shall almost certainly increase that position

goldfinger - 15 Mar 2013 09:09 - 703 of 1559

Technicaly I agree as stock charts are mostly overbought and Indicies look very topy but fact is if you check fundys plenty of stocks arent what you would describe as very expensive.

This is not a dot com kind of situ as some would have you believe. Then you had stock not even making a profit on massive multiples to sales and those that were making a profit P/Es were 30 to 100 plus in many cases.

These markets will be higher come the autumn I reckon.

ps, only went for a cup of tea and TCG was +2 when I got back -5 I thought S-ITE.

cynic - 15 Mar 2013 09:18 - 704 of 1559

These markets will be higher come the autumn ..... too far away and you may be right; in the meantime there has to be a serious correction + "sell in may ...."
