THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Manuel,

Have a quick read of the following sensible article and consider possibilities against the following articles.

I am glad I am not dependent on the Brexiters or Mother Theresa.( “don't want Jeremy Corbyn's green-tea, shortbread-biscuit, more-chaos-anyone chaos, but the full on you've-got-absolutely-no-idea-what-I'm-going-to-do-next chaos that only Theresa May can provide”)

Will London survive as a financial centre after Brexit?

just going to the gym and may read on my return

however, there are three certainties following brexit .....
1) no one yet knows anything for certain, and even post 2019, there is likely to much movement in many matters seemingly already agreed

2) there will undoubtedly be changes, some of them good, some of them bad but for the most part, the impact will not be known for many years, and even then, it will be uncertain whether in or out was the better choice

3) on the reasonable assumption that the conservatives will be re-elected with a proper working majority, the uk will indeed be exiting eu ....... so stop wringing your hands and accept it - or emigrate

re - triple lock for pensioners

The PM has been ask at the Question time, and she could not give a strait answer AVOIDING THE ISSUE

I feel like she is going to turn a "Bitch" like the Corbin followers if her early comments of "fairer britain" is not realised ( PENSIONERS DESERVE BETTER )

The purpose of the leak is to see the result of newspapers and the rest ahead of elections manifesto by the TORIES

Fred1new - 26 Apr 2017 13:01 - 76565 of 81564

I have emigrated once.

Can't be bothered to do it again.

Needs too much energy.

iturama - 26 Apr 2017 13:43 - 76566 of 81564

It is quite normal to fly kites to see the public reaction before deciding on final policy. I have no real problem in removing the 3 lock on those that have additional pensions but it must stay for those that rely upon the state pension as their only source of income. The worse mistake would be to remove the 3 lock but maintain it for overseas aid. Aid must be based on real need.

Apparently Theresa May is not going to the tv debate.....I was wondering perhaps if I should go in her place......under disguise of course....I'll answer all the questions...perhaps not correctly..I'll give you that..but I'll answer them...

Dil - 26 Apr 2017 20:13 - 76571 of 81564

Couldn't have been that good if you came back Fred.

You'll be able to emigrate to Scotland and stay in the EU soon Fred if you believe Jimmy Krankie.

Haystack - 26 Apr 2017 22:08 - 76572 of 81564

Corbyn has said he won't do TV debates if May doesn't. He is worried that he may lose to an empty chair.

Labour leader a 'mugwump', says Johnson

In a deeply personal attack on Mr Corbyn, Mr Johnson said people did not realise the "threat" posed by the Labour leader.
"They say to themselves 'He may be a mutton-headed old mugwump, but he is probably harmless'," he writes.

Mr Johnson suggested that with Mr Corbyn as prime minister, Britain would be ill-equipped to deal with an assertive Russia, North Korea's "semi-deranged regime" and so-called Islamic State, which he described as an "evil Islamist death cult".
"He seems to have no grasp of the need for this country to be strong in the world," he said.
