THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Just be careful Freda them thar Cons could be living around the corner , you don't know who they are , be scared be very scared .

iturama - 25 Apr 2017 13:16 - 76522 of 81564

Labour will "immediately” guarantee the rights of the three million EU nationals living in the UK. The catch is "if elected". That means never under Labour but their rights will be protected when Theresa May has gained equal rights for UK citizens. It's all a silly game but the EU loves playing silly buggers. Maybe because it has so many.

Dil.

Be careful, I see that the Praying Mantis has come to a place near you.

Go outside and wave your flag.

VICTIM - 25 Apr 2017 15:10 - 76524 of 81564

It's a good idea to start your campaign off promising people who don't get a vote (? not sure if they do .) they can stay , while anyone from here in Euroland has had no such promise off Labour . Always want to look after others for some reason .

VICTIM - 25 Apr 2017 15:12 - 76525 of 81564

Watch out for them Cons in your area Freda they only come out at night .

iturama - 25 Apr 2017 15:57 - 76526 of 81564

Eu nationals can vote in local elections but not the General Election. The exception to the rule, curiously these days, is that citizens from the Irish Republic can.

cynic - 25 Apr 2017 16:21 - 76527 of 81564

IG poll indicator
since i looked yesterday, tories have moved stronger again

i guess few are impressed by corbyn's continuing nonsensical waffle, even among "normal" traditional labour voters

Fred1new - 25 Apr 2017 16:30 - 76528 of 81564

Nothing to do with the constant smearing by the media and tory cohorts.

There is a smell of a Crosby about it.

VICTIM - 25 Apr 2017 16:44 - 76529 of 81564

Who " Bing Crosby " .

Fred1new - 25 Apr 2017 17:10 - 76530 of 81564

Yes.

Don't worry your pretty little head about it.

cynic - 25 Apr 2017 17:14 - 76531 of 81564

no fred ..... i listened to the labour spokesmen (plural) on both tv and radio ..... it really is a load of rubbish ....... neither direction nor purpose nor any strength of leadership to be seen

Blow for Nicola Sturgeon as support for Scottish independence plummets
25th April 2017
Nicola Sturgeon has been dealt a huge blow after a new poll revealed that support for Scottish independence has plummeted.

Scottish independence Support for a second Scottish referendum is falling.
The Kantar survey found backing among Scots voters for the break-up of the UK has slumped from 47% to 40% since August last year.

It also showed that nearly half of them do not want a second independence referendum to ever take place

Manuel.

Mao, Stalin, Hitler, Hussein, Gadafi, Mussolini were all strong leaders.

(Could have fitted in the next tory cabinet.)

All believed that they knew that their thoughts were correct and right for the country and what their countries and people needed.

Or what they "wanted".

MaxK - 25 Apr 2017 19:41 - 76534 of 81564

Fred

Interesting list, most of them claiming to be of the socialist/of the people bent.

Funny old world eh?

Fred1new - 25 Apr 2017 19:43 - 76535 of 81564

Yes and no.

They had delusions of grandeur.

Martini - 25 Apr 2017 19:54 - 76536 of 81564

Better add yourself to the list then.

cynic - 25 Apr 2017 19:55 - 76537 of 81564

unfortunately, corbyn has no perceptible leadership qualities at all

and even you would or should be hard-pushed to say that TM has delusions of grandeur

you and many others may not like that she is prepared to take a tough stance with brussels, but rather that than some namby-pamby with no conviction or fire

as i have said before, it will be decades or even never before we find whether voting for "out" is the disaster some predicted, or an absolute blessing, which others claim

one thing is certain - the referendum was for uk to be taken out of eu on terms to be negotiated
this is now in hand much as you may dislike it

well that's just too bad, not least because you almost certainly did not cast a vote at all ..... so stop the grizzling, griping and sniping and accept the reality

Dil - 25 Apr 2017 20:53 - 76538 of 81564

Only ones praying in Wales Fred are the Labour Mp's about to be made redundant.

Already wiped out in Scotland and about to get the same treatment in Wales.

That's what happens when you ignore this wishes of the electorate.

Fred1new - 25 Apr 2017 21:09 - 76539 of 81564

Martini,

Certified sane last week.

Manuel,

I think Corbyn can defend himself better than I could.

As far as the matron, who is like a rock is concerned, she has u-turned and u-turned and wobbled like a jelly for the last 6 months.

When she made her declaration on immigration she failed and backpedaled. Look at her figures. Look at the apathy left in the "Home Office".

Who wobbled on whether to advocate stay in the EU and market until she saw her chance.

The type of lady whose words I would decline to believe.

=-=-=-

However, she is just a side issue.

What I foresee, or fear is the chaos which will occur, due to her and her arrogance of herself, Cameron and the tory party.

I hope I am wrong.

-=-=-=-=

By the way, are you sure you not an ex-boarding school boy, as you certainly seem to like an old matron.

Probably the reason why the tory new boys follow like sheep and the old rams give her a hard time.

Fred1new - 25 Apr 2017 21:34 - 76540 of 81564

Manuel

Food for thought.

Some UKIP and other Brexiters.

Patriotism and Nationalism.

The Difference Between patriotism and nationalism is that the patriot is proud of his country for what it does, and the nationalist is proud of his country no matter what it does; the first attitude creates a feeling of responsibility while the second a feeling of blind arrogance that leads to a war.
