THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Stan - 10 Jul 2017 16:29 - 78428 of 81564

I'm afraid Alf's last post above just shows the level of Tory rhetoric followed by their paranoia on display by inane thinking..

jimmy b - 10 Jul 2017 16:36 - 78429 of 81564

You should all be watching Wimbledon .

2517GEORGE - 10 Jul 2017 16:38 - 78430 of 81564

Has Murray lost yet?

Fred1new - 10 Jul 2017 16:38 - 78431 of 81564

Stan,

Yes, Manuel does lower the tone of this thread.

But he is right.

Even "righter" than Oswald Mosley, but they wouldn't have had him as a member.

8-)

He is always seeing beneath the surface.

jimmy b - 10 Jul 2017 16:48 - 78432 of 81564

No he's playing well but so are Nadel ,Djokovic ,Federer ,we are in a golden age of tennis ,enjoy it while it lasts .

2517GEORGE - 10 Jul 2017 17:11 - 78433 of 81564

There always been a golden age of tennis jb.

jimmy b - 10 Jul 2017 20:57 - 78434 of 81564

Edit , Nadal's out !

I agree with you GEORGE but i think this one's just about the best i'll miss them when they are gone.

Fred1new - 11 Jul 2017 08:43 - 78435 of 81564

Says it all!

iturama - 11 Jul 2017 10:20 - 78436 of 81564

Drinking a cup of coffee may add nine minutes per day to your life.
I need to get my slide rule out to plan how to live forever. I suppose the operative word is "may".

ExecLine - 11 Jul 2017 11:04 - 78437 of 81564

Or even 'Corbyn'?

"Corbyn, instead of coffee or May, could add nine minutes per day to your life."

MaxK - 11 Jul 2017 12:34 - 78438 of 81564

With all the free stuff Corby has bin promising, I suspect your wallets life expectancy would be going down like a runaway elevator.

Laurenrose - 11 Jul 2017 14:56 - 78439 of 81564

i have a suggestion just walk away from doing deal with the stinking rotten eu
if they want a deal then phone us or send a letter

WE DO NOT NEED THE EU BUT THEY NEED US .

WALK AWAY STUFF THEM

and looking around and listening to most of the youngsters today we are in theshite they go to uni and 95% still thick as shit
my daughter will never employ them again

ExecLine - 11 Jul 2017 15:13 - 78440 of 81564

Having an 'education' or 'being educated' is one thing.

Learning about or having some 'common sense' is another.

Being able to 'use some common sense' is very difficult thing for a lot of 'academic' people to do.

Hence a lot of people who do have a lot of common sense, can very easily call 'extremely well educated people' to be "As thick as pig shit."

2517GEORGE - 11 Jul 2017 15:14 - 78441 of 81564

Uni's were able to accept far more students thanks to the dumbing down process implemented by the Labour government, and who introduced tuition fees, oh yes the Labour gov.

Every teenager and their pet got a uni place.

Laurenrose - 11 Jul 2017 15:49 - 78442 of 81564

most are in Tesco/aldi/ mc
all to thick to hold down a proper job
so much for uni

I left school at 15 no education but not thick retired at 50 now on 70

most are unemployable because they think they are clever all down to left wing teaching

Laurenrose - 11 Jul 2017 15:52 - 78443 of 81564

the big problem is they do not know they are thick

Fred1new - 11 Jul 2017 16:59 - 78444 of 81564

Perhaps they were trying to educate those who were too dumb to go to university!

cynic - 11 Jul 2017 17:12 - 78445 of 81564

as i've said frequently b4, most would be far better off (in all ways) by going straight into the workplace from school .....

of course this would be a lot easier if we still had the culture of apprenticeships even for those without academic qualifications
it goes without saying that a basic level of numeracy and literacy are still required in any trade

Fred1new - 11 Jul 2017 17:48 - 78446 of 81564

As long I can decide who goes where!
