Agreed Harry, places like the White Rose shopping centre and Bluewater seem to be far more appropriate for that type of concept.

cynic - 11 Apr 2013 11:25 - 827 of 1559

the choices will not have been random but carefully selected for their demographics and similar

HARRYCAT - 11 Apr 2013 11:42 - 828 of 1559

Yes, comfortable middle class, middle England. The train from Norwich to London is absolutely packed during the morning rush hour with commuters getting on at Diss, Stowmarket and Ipswich, so presumably those people are earning London wages but living the Suffolk lifestyle? No complaint from me though as Harriet Green, Chief Executive seems to know what she's doing and sp still on the up!

cynic - 11 Apr 2013 11:46 - 829 of 1559

not my call or area of expertise, but like i said, the towns will have been chosen after a lot of research by so-called experts

HARRYCAT - 15 Apr 2013 12:52 - 830 of 1559

Nice to see that TCG sp remains strong on a day when many other stocks are being hit. Am still holding, though watching closely.

Will prob re- purchase if they do fall back.

cynic - 15 Apr 2013 17:32 - 833 of 1559

off-thread i know, but however quickly one ducks, it is almost never quick enough or low enough ....as i mentioned non ftse thread, not half glad i'm short both dow and ftse

goldfinger - 16 Apr 2013 03:34 - 834 of 1559

Or if they break through resistance.

US bombings hasnt helped. glad im light and cash heavy in general.

jimmy b - 16 Apr 2013 11:28 - 835 of 1559

I agree GF / cynic i'm holding nothing right now markets due a big correction in my view ,then i'm back in. It could be that sell in May (or April in this case) will work this year.

doodlebug4 - 16 Apr 2013 11:58 - 836 of 1559

US bombing sounds like a one-off nutter - home made devices, not terrorist associated. USA futures look okay at the moment. I'm happy to keep holding this share - trading update due sometime in May and all the indicators look positive.

Thomas Cook now ‘sets the standard’ for mobile
16 April 2013

Thomas Cook’s new mobile site is a model of good design, according to travel technology consultant Paul Richer.

Writing a blog for World Travel Market, Richer said: ‘In the past I have been critical of Thomas Cook’s presence on this channel.

‘In fact, if you have got time for some mobile surfing you will see that Thomas Cook is now setting the standard.

‘The organisation’s new mobile site is a model of good design, only slipping back to the PC website when you reach the booking form; quite a transformation, so 10 out of 10.’

Yep Jimmy, sometimes the best trade is no trade at all.

jimmy b - 16 Apr 2013 15:26 - 839 of 1559

I'v been thinking that for the last couple of weeks GF .

doodlebug4 - 16 Apr 2013 16:02 - 840 of 1559

I certainly woiuldn't be holding on to this share if I didn't think it had some way to go yet. It's the traders who sometimes get caught out in these markets, rather than the investors.

jimmy b - 16 Apr 2013 16:16 - 841 of 1559

I more buy for momentum doodle ,its just that i think the markets are overheated at the mo ,however there are always shares that buck the trend , a big wobble and i'll be back in the markets.

goldfinger - 16 Apr 2013 16:31 - 842 of 1559

Yep so true DB, but the one thing Ive learnt in the markets over the years is that traders can become investors if they dont act instinctivly and get shot of would be losers quick enough.

This then leads to lack of liquidty/funds and the trader in turn repeats his mistakes becomes an investor and ultimately a loser.

Lost to the market.

One has to be ruthless and close out quick if a loss is expected.

Traders cant trade down to any more than a 2% loss imo on any one given trade.

doodlebug4 - 16 Apr 2013 17:06 - 843 of 1559

jimmy b - the consensus among most experts is that 2013 is going to be a bull market. There are always going to be wobbles, even in bull markets, it just depends on what you regard as a "big" wobble. TCG is a good share to be invested in at the moment as it not too influenced by the wobbles.

goldfinger - 16 Apr 2013 18:44 - 844 of 1559

Well always expect differently to what you think I say.

The markets have a habit of making one look a mug.

This thread seems to be developing into a discussion about the markets in general, rather than a discussion about TCG.
