Thought I'd start a football blog, we might keep this going until 2010.....England doing well....did not see the match or even the goals....I'd like Michael owen back in the squad though....and I think Peter Crouch would make a very good substitute...remember against Argentina in Geneva a few years ago....with Michael Owen and some very good movements on and off the ball...they caused havoc.....did see Scotland's missed chance....that could be very costly losing those 2 points !.

Sad but England were not up to it. Rooney is a disgrace, and should go back to nicking car wheels in thiefpool.

Yet again a shallow, irrelevant, racist comment from you Clubman. It seems that's all you've got to offer.

The organisation of the defense was a shambles....and when going forward : in the back four : nobody wanted the ball.....and when they get it : they don't know what to do with it......

No great mystery, England lost because they played poor. Germany won because England played poor.

Clubbyfor the first time ever I agree with youRooney was a disgrace![re post 990]but I dont agree that England were not up to itall the German players ply their trade in European leagues and teams that are far less successful than the English clubs that our boys play in
My take on our failure for what it is worth is twofold some our players have become bigger than their countryRooney is on Hollywood money told by all he is a superstar and now believes he only has to turn up with an ironed kit to get the applause.and there are several Rooneys in our team at the momentall proven great players under achieving on International stageforeign players and managers willand have back this point of view
On the most important day for many years for our nation sideour players sat back and waited for the Germans to gift us the ballwe had superstars and the German team was unknown by manywe expectedrather than go out and earn IMO only three players can hold their head halfway up JamesLampardand A. Coleand even they made elementary errors
My other point is from personal experienceif you play any team sport and you know for sure there is a weak link in your teamyou play the game slightly unnaturalyour shape might be differentcovering of the weak link changes your mindsetfearfrustration and worse stillthe confidence drainsand when that player or players start dropping the bo**ocksyour composure and discipline can vanish completelyand that is exactly what happened
The Germans where not too good for uswe beat ourselves with those two points
One other point I would like to makeif Britain were involved in a War tomorrowI would be happy to fight along side FredDilTrigbouncy and even Gausie[in know he is English]I cannot understand their views on one of their Kingdoms teams?
Must be just me?

The second worst quote I have ever seen on this thread.the top honour went to a Michael Owen fan.
Rooney was a disgrace for Englandbut I believe he was hiding an injuryhe is a superbly gifted footballer that likes doing things his own wayreminds me very much of John Barnes never know what you are going to get on the daybut you looked forward to finding out?
Fergie would never sell him unless he kicks a boot in his face

Tabby you talk some shite. Every player has his price, and Sir Alex would sell Rooney, he sold Ronaldo who was and is a far better player. Rooney does not want to leave Manchester, for the likes of Madrid as he is still learning English, and his career would be over before he learned Spanish.
