We've broken out of the assylum Greek!

PATISEAR - 29 Feb 2008 10:30 - 25702 of 27111

Is Mr Mines telling us the patent challange is no more????.

PATISEAR - 29 Feb 2008 10:31 - 25703 of 27111

Greek
Are you still in?

Edit: I don't mean the asylum.

garyble - 29 Feb 2008 10:35 - 25704 of 27111

What a load of bol@#cks!

2 weeks to results, but fear....crap results plus current momentum not being sustained = drop back to 0.2p!

To release an RNS which simply agrees with the press focus on the environmental impact of plastic bags does not seem particularly price sensitive.

Could there be a message in the last para?.......Jam tomorrow

greekman - 29 Feb 2008 10:35 - 25705 of 27111

Hi Patisear,

Yes to both.

Out now though (not SEO) but back pm.

Keep it going.

Tonyrelaxes - 29 Feb 2008 10:59 - 25706 of 27111

Wow.

PM2's prediction of 35 by Christmas looming large.

Well, we have 35 now. Just need to shuffle the decimal point a bit (a lot!) to the right.

required field - 29 Feb 2008 11:14 - 25707 of 27111

Well dust off me cobwebs !, SEO top of the leaders board on a nonsense RNS, somethings never change !

Tonyrelaxes - 29 Feb 2008 11:15 - 25708 of 27111

Actually I am of 2 minds over the RNS.

1. PM (not2) has been using the same water cooler as his predecessors and has now finally caught the same MRSA bug as HW, IB, MW.
(MRSA - Make Ramping Statements 'Accelerando')

2. Good to see someone actively promoting something.
But I do wonder exactly how many supermarket buyers go to Stock Market announcements for their new products and materials?

robinhood - 29 Feb 2008 11:21 - 25709 of 27111

Even for SEO standards this RNS is a load of b*****cks

robinhood - 29 Feb 2008 11:23 - 25710 of 27111

(sorry garyble-did not intend to copy your remark-just happened I overlooked it)

hangon - 29 Feb 2008 11:57 - 25711 of 27111

garyble - you call it right, this is a non-RNS having nothing to do with the company's efforts. The fact they are "in the eco-plastic field" (my words) and that there is "interest in the Press" - rather demonstrates the woeful lack of Umph ( a tech term) that SEO management has.
It is entirely fortuitous that the product they keep bagged-up in Southampton is anything like interesting - what I would like to read is:-
"...SEO opens a second marque for the buyers' party following a complete sell-out of the manufacturing stock ...into the second half of 2009. We will release information in due course about a take over of Clydeside with a new factory part-paid by EU money..."

Todasy's RNS is a non-event! . . . . . indeed it would be correct//more-honest IMHO for SEO to say
"....The company sees no reason for the recent rise in the sp...since management is still having a winter sleep...."
- I'm surprised LSE didn't ban such "puff" -

Tonyrelaxes - 29 Feb 2008 12:16 - 25712 of 27111

If it is a winter sleep it is probably in the Carribean or similar.

I still am reminded of PMs deep tan at the AGM and thinking I want my CEOs to be indoors working for me, not sailing or zuzzing in the sun.

dawall - 29 Feb 2008 12:29 - 25713 of 27111

This morning's RNS is either:
1 an extremely stupid poor thought through action to try and jump on the band wagon or
2 or an intelligent attempt to hint at something in the pipeline that is close.

There is absolutley no reason why SEO had to issue a statement based on press commentary around plastic bags so although I am hoping for 2 history tells me it is better to anticipate 1.

halifax - 29 Feb 2008 12:37 - 25714 of 27111

It also suggests they are desperate to generate some sales interest which may be lacking at the moment.

required field - 29 Feb 2008 12:54 - 25715 of 27111

If they ban plastic bags in the UK like they have in some parts of the EEC, it won't matter whether they are biodegradable or not !

tweenie - 29 Feb 2008 13:06 - 25716 of 27111

It's all talk.........until they deliver a deal.
any deal, any sale, anything other that TALK, which is cheap.......hahahaha
unlike my losses.
still of the opinion that PM should be given a good thrashing at the AGM- especially if he delivers nothing by then.
holding on as ever...... You never know, the GOv'nt might TAX all plastic packaging and that might just get the bio-ball rolling. No doubt SEO ,management would take the credit for achieving this by sitting on their collecting arses watching the world go by.
:-)

oblomov - 29 Feb 2008 14:02 - 25717 of 27111

required field,

'If they ban plastic bags in the UK like they have in some parts of the EEC, it won't matter whether they are biodegradable or not ! '

Bags made from Bioplastics aren't plastic - unless I missed something!

They're made from starch.

garypat2 - 29 Feb 2008 14:04 - 25718 of 27111

Even the other PM is jumping on the band-wagon

Its only a matter of time before the change happens

How about a petition on the No. 10 website along the lines of:-

'We, the undersigned. petition the Prime Minister to legislate for biodegradable (preferably bioplastic) bags'
