Closed out one of the shorts for 40 - leaving the other one to see if there is more in the tank. A long and tense wait to get back in the money so stop moved down to entry to protect profits.

mg - 13 Jun 2007 09:34 - 8062 of 11056

Managed another 50 from the remaining position. Probably more in the tank but relieved to come out in the money

chocolat - 13 Jun 2007 09:36 - 8063 of 11056

Nice one meggers :)

Seymour Clearly - 13 Jun 2007 09:56 - 8064 of 11056

Excellent mg. Pleased it was profitable for you as well :-)

Must admit I'm looking to the short side but may be too busy to do more than watch over the next couple of days.

mg - 13 Jun 2007 10:19 - 8065 of 11056

Cheers guys - must admit that I nearly bottled it last night but managed to put enough "hopings" in to last through to this morning's jobs announcement.

Looking at the YEN/USD as a potential short - but it seems to be running on aircraft fuel at the moment.

chocolat - 13 Jun 2007 10:51 - 8066 of 11056

Well I've stuck a little pinkie in just now :S

MightyMicro - 13 Jun 2007 11:38 - 8067 of 11056

mg: Well, I'm "hoping" that you'll buy us all a drink, although I fear Choccie's attention may be elsewhere right now . . .

mg - 13 Jun 2007 11:59 - 8068 of 11056

choccie
I will refrain from the obvious response (unlike MM) but I'm hoping it gives the required effect. I've gone short from 12244 and 12233 but decided not to stick my little pinkie in anything - I'm "hoping" that I don't need to do that. :)

I've got a cork ready - as a surrogate to my pinkie.

I was expecting a few posts... "I went long Cable 1.9683 "

Unfortunately I cant post that...

mg - 13 Jun 2007 16:07 - 8070 of 11056

Foale
Would have been a good long - but couldn't see it - even though I'd had a long to open @ 690 overnight - based on a slopey resistance thingy - but I pulled it early this morning - shame, could have been a nice one.

Still holding my USD/YEN shorts ....... and hoping, Technically speaking, of course !!

Seymour Clearly - 13 Jun 2007 16:25 - 8071 of 11056

I saw cable at 1.9680 at lunch and was tempted, but.......

A question for the technical bods on here. I work on different PCs from one day to the next. If I use FXCM power charts can I copy the settings, trend lines etc to another mchine? I don't think it's a cookie issue as I have my home machine set to ask me if it can set cookies before allowing them.

CC - 13 Jun 2007 16:40 - 8072 of 11056

Been busy all day trading so not read this until now so can post that I did take cable at 1.9688.

Unfortunately got stopped out of short yen at 1.2248 so right now i'm 7 pips up today. lol

mg - 14 Jun 2007 07:02 - 8073 of 11056

Stopped out of my yen shorts for -100 :( Trying to swim against the tide so serves me right. I must admit that, since trying to trade the yen, I've been pretty crap at it - think I'll stick to cable for a bit longer - seem to get better results.

So net -10 for yesterday - could have been worse I suppose.

CC - 14 Jun 2007 09:48 - 8074 of 11056

stopped out this morning at 1.9713. Back in now at 1.9693 but not feeling ever so confident

chocolat - 14 Jun 2007 10:11 - 8075 of 11056

Brown 'opens up MPC appointments'

Kept the other pinkie dry so far, but imo the yen thingie's almost overcooked.

chocolat - 14 Jun 2007 14:12 - 8076 of 11056

Think that's just about it - otherwise the big toe's for it :S

Seymour Clearly - 14 Jun 2007 19:21 - 8077 of 11056

So far this week I am up 23 points. Been difficult to trade in the absence of any real direction so have taken a few small gains. Also really busy at work so hard to watch. Not one of my better weeks.

EDIT - Does anyone have any idea how to copy chart settings on FXCM powercharts to other PCs if possible?

mg - 15 Jun 2007 07:16 - 8078 of 11056

choccie
Agree about the overcooked sushi - providing it goes my way I'm trying to build short positions from my first entry at 12309. Not that confident because the YEN seems to be acting as the super-duper currency of the moment.

We'll see.

mg - 15 Jun 2007 10:01 - 8079 of 11056

Oh well - yet another bollock dropped on the YEN - really doesn't seem to be my currency - probably because I'm not disciplined enough when it comes to "reading the runes" on this one. I was working on the 60 and 120 minute - which seemed to be suggesting a retreat. They've now both reversed :(

25 point loss to add to yesterday's cock up - and refused to add as it climbed against me - one positive from the experience.

Back to cable until I can curb my urges and hunches - which seems to be the way I've traded the YEN - ridiculous !!

mg - 15 Jun 2007 13:20 - 8080 of 11056

Just call me fickle - but I've been tempted back into a YEN short from 12350. Admittedly it is the 10 minute MACD that's done it - not the best indicator in the world - but it's one of many. Looking for a shed load so probably add along the way - again - provided the wind blows in the right direction - here's hoping.
