Referendum : to be in Europe or not to be ?, that is the question ! (REF)

required field - 03 Feb 2016 10:00

Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

cynic - 07 Feb 2019 15:57 - 12321 of 12628

well they've certainly got a bleating sheep as a leader now, and that's when he makes any sound at all

Dil - 07 Feb 2019 15:57 - 12322 of 12628

Fred , Hitler or Corbyn. ... your right that would be a close call , both scum bags.

Dil - 07 Feb 2019 15:58 - 12323 of 12628

And who the feck would the Jews vote for ?

cynic - 07 Feb 2019 15:58 - 12324 of 12628

hitler and corbyn????? ........ i don't think so ....... lenin or marx or perhaps stalin and corbyn maybe

cynic - 07 Feb 2019 15:59 - 12325 of 12628

12323 - i haven't decided yet, but a peculiar question

Dil - 07 Feb 2019 16:04 - 12326 of 12628

Cynic , if there had been an election race between them not a comparison as buddies.

Fred1new - 07 Feb 2019 16:21 - 12327 of 12628

Georgie,

If you are so certain and confident about the will of the people why are your running scared of another informed referendum?

By the way, 2008-2010 was due to the Banks and City's mismanagement.

There had been attempts to tighten the regulations, but doing so would not have past through parliament.

Also, look around the world at that time and question if Labour was responsible for the collapse of the economies of other countries.

Interesting to see whose neck May puts in Corbyn's noose.

Red Fred

We know how good Carney is at forecasting.

Running scared ha! ha! Where did that come from? The problem I would have with a 2nd referendum is the wording of it and the fact that it would almost certainly contain 3 elements.

If the wording were the same as in the 1st referendum, the LEAVE vote would be much higher imo

cynic - 07 Feb 2019 16:33 - 12330 of 12628

there is at least a reasonable likelihood that corbyn will have his own neck in that noose

2517GEORGE - 07 Feb 2019 16:34 - 12331 of 12628

Let's hope so

Martini - 07 Feb 2019 16:40 - 12332 of 12628

Corbyn’s doing an excellent job of getting us out of Europe long may he continue to be labours leader. He will deserve a knighthood for services to Brexit when we leave.

Fred1new - 07 Feb 2019 16:49 - 12333 of 12628

Manuel,

At present, you have a government which you must be proud of.

Not sure who is the biggest rat in No 10.

The most incompetent and divided government since the Chamberlain's or Heath's period.

Europe is laughing at the little englander's mentality/

cynic - 07 Feb 2019 16:51 - 12334 of 12628

he's certainly not doing the labour party any favours

it's truly unbelievable that, in the most recent opinium poll in the observer, labour was lagging by 7% ....... at this stage of a parliament, one would expect the opposition to be at least that far ahead

it'll be interesting to see how or if that position changes (significantly) in opinium's next poll - due towards the end of next week i believe

Fred1new - 07 Feb 2019 16:55 - 12335 of 12628

Wait for the next G/E.

But at the moment it seems to me that in many parts of the world the general public is been led by their noses by political adolescents.

cynic - 07 Feb 2019 16:58 - 12336 of 12628

ah yes indeed fred, but until such a time as there is an election, polls are all one has to gauge public opinion ....... and even you cannot claim the observer has right wing bias

Fred1new - 07 Feb 2019 17:06 - 12337 of 12628

Manuel,

If you are so certain about the outcome of a G/E and the validity of that poll, put your money where your mouth is, and impress me, by putting £1000 or two on the result.

cynic - 07 Feb 2019 17:10 - 12338 of 12628

no one can be certain of any result, and i did not even infer by a single word that polls were foolproof .... indeed, the referendum polls were a prime example

Fred1new - 07 Feb 2019 17:19 - 12339 of 12628

I suppose you posting it doesn't give what you print validity.

I would never have guessed!

Fred1new - 07 Feb 2019 17:28 - 12340 of 12628

I think Carney was appointed by a tory "government".

Here is his today's appraisal of your government's incompetence:

2h ago No-deal Brexit: UK exporters risk being locked out of world's harbours
3h ago Summary: Bank of England fights fog of Brexit
4h ago Carney: No-deal Brexit would raise risk of recession
5h ago Carney: Parliament is taking its time over Brexit
5h ago Carney points to 'fog of Brexit uncertainty'
5h ago Mark Carney's press conference begins
5h ago Bank: Many UK companies not ready for no-deal Brexit

If I voted, I am certain some would vote for a tory win.

Especially those shorting on its economy.
