Mr Mole - 01 Dec 2005 16:13 - 114 of 2511

I'm thinking there might be some T trades settling at a loss after buying in at the recent spike. They've often recovered after being sub 1 pound.....

Confidant - 01 Dec 2005 16:36 - 115 of 2511

entering now ? we need more news to get this moving. Sure the NPV might be 150p or 500p as some would make it but when does the profit roll .... years out. Cash reqd for capex no doubt so company needs to hold share price up - re todays announcement. Short -term this stock needs good exploration news or a placing done with seroius institutions to enable further development and confidence. Long-term, and I mean long-term does not look too bad but to get this moving the share may have to many people in waiting for the quick buck.

moneyplus - 01 Dec 2005 17:27 - 116 of 2511

Oh dear Mr Mole and I got our timing badly wrong on this one bought right at the top--just have to sit and wait now for some more good news!!

gavdfc - 02 Dec 2005 06:51 - 117 of 2511

For interest to VOG holders, no position myself.

"In the same sector, Victoria Oil & Gas dropped 5p to 100p amid talk that the group is looking to raise 7m via a equity fundraising. Word has it that Victoria was putting the finishing touches together last night for a placing priced at 100p. A decision by the group to raise new money from the City would certainly be a smart move, given the 100 per cent jump in the value of its share over the past month."

Mr Mole - 02 Dec 2005 08:17 - 118 of 2511

Story of my life moneyplus...timing. I'm in for the long term...looking forward to the next Cairn!!

bhunt1910 - 02 Dec 2005 08:52 - 119 of 2511

If you missed this - the next Cairn might just be Chaco - it has the prospect of doing what VOG has done over last few weeks - although a risky play - it could go to 70 - 80p over next 12 months from its current day price of 6/7.

Some good analysis done by others on the Chaco thread - apologies for GOT

Mr Mole - 02 Dec 2005 09:07 - 120 of 2511

It's on my watchlist bhunt..but, I've so many on there...which one's going to do it!! I'll take a detailed look at the thread..ta...

moneyplus - 02 Dec 2005 11:47 - 121 of 2511

thanks Baza-I'm also watching CHP but no spare funds as yet.

bhunt1910 - 02 Dec 2005 12:11 - 122 of 2511

It would not surprise me if they (CHP) started an agressive marketing campaign before Xmas - as this share does appear to undervalued - sorry off thread - will swap across now

TANKER - 02 Dec 2005 12:21 - 123 of 2511

goldfinger - 02 Dec 2005 14:18 - 127 of 2511

Great time to top up. Added a shed load more at this lower price. Should get good news as early as January.

cheers GF.

AndrewThomson77 - 02 Dec 2005 14:23 - 128 of 2511

I agree GF. Unfortunately my cash is all tied up elsewhere at the moment! Doh.

aldwickk - 02 Dec 2005 14:44 - 129 of 2511

G F,

So what price do you think will be the placing / issue price set at then ?

maddoctor - 02 Dec 2005 14:46 - 130 of 2511

yes I'd like some idea to

TheFrenchConnection - 02 Dec 2005 20:21 - 131 of 2511

Amities . TANKER - my sentiments exactly. Shells interest to make a "play" in the Russias is not unknown .Gazpom has 10 billion wrapped up in this area . Lord Brown chose to virtually gamble BPs future . With 72% of BP acreage now concentrated offshore in West Africa , the Caspian ( azeri ) and Black seas , the Russias & the Gulf of mexico, BP has a very handsome future . So much so that Gazpom have been quoted in the Russian Press as having sounding out the idea of massive j/v with BP reg. massive projects in the area of which West Medvezhye is but one known tiny part of a tiny artery of other much bigger intersection of gas who form partof the Gazpom fields ..So big that BP sold 7.8 billion of its North sea assets to snap as much acreage as they could it as they could when denationaliztion hit the foundering USSR ./ emerging Russia . Now Vog have a relatively smallish position but quite literally surrounded by majors from on each side. VOG are NOT an oil play . Forget that . This a GAS play !! Pure and simple . And in great abundance . l dont think the market yet appreciates the sheer scale in terms of size of the recent VOG "gas strike" but more to the point the surrounding similar geological fizures that 3d seismic and and magnetic imaging show to dot the landscape. Apply that to the price of gas on the Henry Hubb exchange and id say people are mad to sell at the very time economic theory says "BUY" Even a dead cat bounces; but VOG is not a dea cat And production when translated into BPDOE we are talking in terms that even in employing the most cautious and conservative of fiscal variables terms an s/p of 250.280p as attainable with ease .But until that gas is out of the ground - either liquified or piped as a gas and more to the point heading west MMs are going to have an absolute field day with this one . But this is not ONLY a news fed stock but rather a momentum stock !. Upon first investigation it appears a shorters dream : yet one that could take shorters to the cleaners...an absolute nightmare. l can smell the fear of big shorters on this one .So Shorters beware !! All this selling is merely profitakers from pre 46p days locking into circa 180% profits . and who wouldnt ? . Like i did. Rebought late on the rebound at 88p and im staying put. l usually play the percentages but i know a top drawer gasfield when hits me in the face !! l know the value of that gas.. This is not a jam tommorow. lts now.Happening. ,,, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,placing @ 1 .. ,,But rumours abound that private equity via one financial instrument or another is prepared to back them to the tune of 10M \So who knows Or step in Shell and buy ,,Qui sait ? J,,

goldfinger - 02 Dec 2005 23:16 - 132 of 2511

Wait untill the news comes through I say, and dont speculate.

The amount of gas this one as I dont give a chuff. Higher energy prices means your onto a big thing.

My moneys on 5 quid SP 24 months or sooner from here, and the days of low energy prices are gone forever.

cheers GF.

AndrewThomson77 - 03 Dec 2005 00:18 - 133 of 2511

I worked it out as a fair SP of 404p minus whatever the cost of getting that gas out the ground and to the customer. Based on known resources.
