Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

You have been told why a thousand times.

All you do is say "its overvalued"....... might rise 30p at most on the news (that was at 230p).

Give it up............ :)

Until the next rns when they confirm that this is a super discovery....until then I consider the sp to be way up with events....ok...they say with figures to prove that there is say 500 million barrels then this should go to way beyond 300p...we shall see...it'll make me some more dosh..great...if not then back to 200p possibily if just 100 million...just guessing....

cynic - 28 May 2010 15:11 - 1316 of 6294

harry - NH is almost certainly no better informed than any of us, which is not to say that i too do not come down on the side of probability of a strong report.

however, i do hold an adequate number of RKH + a slightly smaller number of DES and a modest holding in FOLG

Proselenes - 28 May 2010 15:12 - 1317 of 6294

170M barrels is worth 600p a share on its own.

90p a share in cash.

Ernest prospect + Stephens + Fox + many others.

So already its undervalued......... and if there should be an upgrade, well.... say no more.

A little reminder of what was said when Oriel upgraded RKH to "buy" status :

UPDATE 1-Rockhopper says Falklands oil find high quality

Fri May 7, 2010 4:23pm BST

* Says further testing at Sea Lion gives encouraging results

* Eyes flow test at later date

* Stock up over 50 pct

LONDON, May 7 (Reuters) - British oil company Rockhopper Exploration (RKH.L) confirmed its controversial drilling programme near the Falkland Islands has found high quality oil, boosting its shares for a second straight day.

Rockhopper, which initially announced the discovery on Thursday, said fresh data showed the find was a "high quality reservoir interval with very good porosity and permeability".

The data increased the likelihood that the company would return to carry out a flow test, Managing Director Samuel Moody said in a statement on Friday.

Oil exploration in the islands off the coast of South America has sparked protests from Argentina, which claims the British territory.

Shares in Rockhopper were trading up 50 percent at 140 pence a share by 1514 GMT, after more than doubling on Thursday, valuing the company at around 243 million pounds ($375.8 million).

Oriel Securities analyst Richard Rose upgraded his stance on Rockhopper to "buy".

"In the main 25m pay zone permeabilities range from 200-500 Milidarcies with peaks of over 1 Darcy. In layman's terms this indicates a decent quality reservoir," Rose said in a note.

"In addition, no oil/water contact has been encountered, another positive," he added.

While further drilling will be needed to confirm the findings, a commercial discovery based on the current reserve estimates would be worth up to 600 pence a share, Rose said.

sp has of course pretty much doubled again from that date

Proselenes/RF,

This thread is getting a bit too much of, 'Yes I have, No you haven't.
By all means answer/reply to each other once, then why don't you two just ignore each other?
Most of us I am sure are getting a bit bored with this petty arguing, also it results in those posts of yours that have good, interesting comments being ignored, which is a shame.
Hope neither of you take offence at my comments.
Greek.

cynic - 28 May 2010 16:03 - 1321 of 6294

very much to my surprise, though i'm certainly not complaining, sp is holding up very strongly indeed and remains within a copper or two of its high for the day

halifax - 28 May 2010 16:05 - 1322 of 6294

cynic sp holding up quite well 235p looks like a big wish.

cynic - 28 May 2010 16:09 - 1323 of 6294

no worries to be honest .... in fact, such is the continuing strength that i feel my non-greed resolution weakening!

halifax - 28 May 2010 16:14 - 1324 of 6294

cynic isn't it strange marky is so absent, maybe he is on the beach somewhere in the south of France?

cynic - 28 May 2010 16:16 - 1325 of 6294

give the boy his due, for he has been promoting these stocks for ages and ages - i see this thread started in 2005! .... i'm very much a parvenu and late convert, but have done very well out of it

halifax - 28 May 2010 16:21 - 1326 of 6294

cynic not criticising marky except his dislike of BOR which is surprising as he started that thread and doesn't want to recognise the potential since they have over 100m cash to cover the cost of drilling later this year.

cynic - 28 May 2010 16:32 - 1327 of 6294

i saw that; very strange even though it's a stock that does not get me very excited, at least for the moment

anyway, the die are now cast for RKH, for it is surely almost certain that they'll put out the report before market open on tuesday

cynic - 28 May 2010 16:35 - 1328 of 6294

.

halifax - 28 May 2010 16:37 - 1329 of 6294

cynic not entirely in agreement as the 10/15 days will not be up until 3rd june if no RNS on tuesday would expect the sp to move up nearer 300p.

cynic - 28 May 2010 16:40 - 1330 of 6294

3rd is wednesday, but i would have thought pre-open on 1st would be perfect .... anyway, no way to guess and let's just hope there's no scare stories in the press in the meantime

halifax - 28 May 2010 16:42 - 1331 of 6294

cynic your callendar is different to ours which suggests 3rd june is next thursday.

cynic - 28 May 2010 16:46 - 1332 of 6294

jewish loony colander calendar - it selectively sieves dates to suit! ..... would hope it's before then as i fly to dubai thursday lunchtime, though shall not leave home/office until about 11.00

required field - 28 May 2010 16:50 - 1333 of 6294

Bought a few more this afternoon...hoping for a good result that at least keeps this up....the problem is whatever happens here affects the others....
