Falklands Oil and Gas (FOGL) (FOGL)

Proselenes - 13 Aug 2011 04:53

.

HARRYCAT - 22 Aug 2012 14:11 - 1329 of 2393

Hmmmmm.....is that why he is your ex father-in-law? ;o)

I have a modest FOGL quantity but am happy to hold until the news is released. I consider the risk bearable!

coeliac1 - 22 Aug 2012 14:29 - 1330 of 2393

Lol Harry. To a point only. Plus he is dead.

Shortie - 22 Aug 2012 15:04 - 1331 of 2393

I have currently 3 future long positions, 2 Sept and 1 Dec. Expect to hold these until current drilling programme is complete.

required field - 22 Aug 2012 18:19 - 1332 of 2393

Harrycat,.....I have been doing some hot weather research in appalling conditions on sandy beaches and milkpond seas......it's a tough job but somebody has to do it !....I've come up with some answers but need a bit more research possibly....

required field - 22 Aug 2012 18:23 - 1333 of 2393

I...I'll have a look on Google....

grannyboy - 23 Aug 2012 07:59 - 1334 of 2393

Interim results out, and the quote "I look forward to providing updates on our operations as the year progresses" looks interesting, whats anyone elses thoughts?.

required field - 23 Aug 2012 08:05 - 1335 of 2393

The results are of not much consequence at the moment except that it demonstrates that the sp is capable of zooming like a tenbagger if they hit a big commmercial discovery.

cynic - 23 Aug 2012 08:16 - 1336 of 2393

damnfool comment - that would apply to any diddlysquat exploration company

required field - 23 Aug 2012 08:21 - 1337 of 2393

No.....it just shows that the company has big potential......and there will be another well after this one......I think that they will discover gas.... oil not at all certain......it's hit and miss.....but with all these wells being drilled perhaps one might just come up trumps !...

greekman - 23 Aug 2012 08:40 - 1338 of 2393

Morning Cynic,

RF's comments were on the results which as his post implies is as expected and is also a reply to Grannyboys comment re 'looks interesting'.
Yes his comments were obvious, but sometimes the obvious is required if others can't see it.

I have found that you are tending to have a go at posters and their comments more and more instead of giving your alternative opinions, giving impression of really living up to your user name.
It appears whatever anyone says, you have a go!

cynic - 23 Aug 2012 09:05 - 1339 of 2393

i just get totally cheesed with posters who see only through rose-tinted specs and worse ...... a sense of proportion and a reality check is often required ..... the fact remains that (imo and that of others) finding gas will be little better than finding nothing and the chances of hitting commercial oil are probably 5/1 at best ...... and yes i do hold a modest number as there remains a chance that the 5/1 shot will indeed come to pass

grannyboy - 23 Aug 2012 09:29 - 1340 of 2393

Bugger i must be getting slow, it never dawned on me that cynic was having a dig at me!, As to rose-tinted specs.. ahh yes one of your favourite sayings cynic,, Im an optimist and see the potential but yet understand the RISK(after all its an explorer), you on the other hand continue to slag anyone and anything a company is involved with(not just FOGL)even though you state you are invested..

I know you are a momentum trader and jump on the bandwagon, but why do you bother to post your views at all as you are starting to look slightly tarnished....

cynic - 23 Aug 2012 09:41 - 1341 of 2393

because i choose to ...... do you recollect all those posters proclaiming the wonders and potential of SEO, RRR, RRL, VOG, VGM and so on and so on ad nauseam? ...... perhaps a bit of reality earlier in the day would have done no harm ....

i accept that you, like me, will sometimes have a punt on something that is intrinsically very high risk (e.g. FOGL), but that is with a modest stake which you can afford and are prepared to lose ..... however, there seem to be some loonies here (and elsewhere) - always assuming they tell the truth - who are purblind to the odds-on chance that their stake will be near enough wiped out in the event of failure

there would even appear to be some who have a very significant holding in FOGL (or similar), constituting a very high percentage of their whole portfolio ..... speaks for itself

HARRYCAT - 23 Aug 2012 10:43 - 1342 of 2393

Ruffling a few feathers this morning Mr C?!!! I'm sure we can all look forward to a more mellow cynic after a holiday amongst the Alsation Pinot Gris. ;o)

markymar - 23 Aug 2012 10:44 - 1343 of 2393

I totally agree with Cynics post 1339 of 1341

I also think Proselenes comes up with some very good research but also twists the facts to suit his trading strategy hence he misleads people.

In all that’s what a public forum is about to exchange information and make the best decision on the information made to you.

I find it of interest in Cynic take on things as had many years experience in trading.

cynic - 23 Aug 2012 10:48 - 1344 of 2393

good morning harry and mark ..... yes indeed being rather waspish as is quite frequently my wont ..... if it upsets some, so be it, but if it causes just one other to sit back and re-assess, then the posting has done its job

greekman - 23 Aug 2012 11:12 - 1345 of 2393

Cynic,

I have always weighed your post equally with other, my last post was just pointing out that recently your posts mainly consist of digs and not well argued comments/opinions which used to be your Hallmark.

Regards Greek.

hlyeo98 - 23 Aug 2012 11:34 - 1346 of 2393

Cynic has gone off his rails... haha... he can't accept other people's views.

cynic - 23 Aug 2012 11:39 - 1347 of 2393

that's ok greek; i confess i spend far too much time and repetition on PPs unremiitingly ramping threads ..... for all that, i happily maintain my view on this stock for the reasons given yet again earlier this morning

however, it is a matter of fact that most posters on BBs are blind optimists - or something approaching that - which is why such media (mediums?) have a generally poor reputation in the investment industry - not that they seem to have much clue most of the time either!

Shortie - 23 Aug 2012 11:40 - 1348 of 2393

At the end of June, Falkland Oil & Gas said it had $220m of cash on its books. More importantly, when its current drilling programme is completed, and assuming there are no material overruns, it expects to have around $200m (approx £125m) remaining.

£125m / 320m shares in issue is 39p, shares currently trading at 88p so 49p per share is the premium associated with the current drilling programme call it risked if you wish.

With such a high premium risked at this stage I completely understand why anyone wouldn't want their portfolio heavily invested in this stock. If your holding 400K in FOGL shares and claim you've spread your risk evenly then by any means you have a substantial portfolio which begs the question why are you posting to a free BB.
