Hi all
pretty new to all this. I have pumped some into Deltex - looks like a strong product with good growth. Could be a steady gainer.
Does anyone else have this, and anyone have some research on it? Someone with more experience than me!
thanks in advance.

Madison - too right, very sore! And as to one swallow - if it taste's like p**s then the experience lasts a long time. Kind of sticks in your throat, as you might say on this one :))
In my more rational moments, I still recognise the kind of share I like - great innovation in an existing essential market. It's still not only on my watch list, but in my portfolio at zero. I am ready willing and able to re-join when re-convinced.
Happy holding, those that were not shaken but stirred.

Well folks, posted on MDW board by moneyplus last week.
"Interesting article in today's Times about a medical development on trial in a London hospital measuring patients fluid levels after operations. Dramatic improvements in recovery times and saved the hospital over 1 million in overheads expected to save the NHS 1 billion a year if rolled out nationwide. This sounds very much like Mediwatch tech. anyone heard the same news--any announcements in the offing do you think??? fingers crossed"
Sounded more like DEMG to me.
I know DEMG are still under trials with many hospitals but with all political parties looking to improve the NHS maybe, just maybe they will now see the benefits of CardioQ in both reducing costs/patient recovery times and therefore waiting times. Hopefully they'll spend the extra money on something that will actually save money. Question is, are we near the bottom on DEMG now, having got out at 22pish I am tempted to get back in now at 14.25p, the story is still the same, just needs the orders to come to fruition and now is the new financial year.

Andysmith - Definitely sounds like Deltex
I'm looking for some good news and a strong indicator on the chart that we are moving up again before venturing in again - even if I lose the first few % rise.

My thoughts exactly, looks tempting at this price but once bitten.
If orders start coming through this could move up quickly, from here even back to28p would recoup earlier losses. Keep watching.

andysmith - look at the chart (wish I knew how to paste it here) on Mam's new chart site with 25dma, 50dma and 200dma drawn in. It is an unremitting down trend below the 25dma which is below the 50dma all at vertiginous angles. Don't touch it yet, it's only going one way.
Wait for the SP to break up through at least the 25dma and probably the 50dma and possibly, wait for the 25dma to break up throgh the 50dma all three in an upward direction by then - that's probably the most adventurous buy signal. To be even more certain, wait for the 50dma to cross up through the 200dma which usually presages a clear move up to new territory.
IMHO, DYOR
interesting days!

Deltex Medical initiated with "strong buy"
LONDON, June 15 (newratings.com) - Analyst Gerard Reid of First Berlin initiates coverage of Deltex Medical Group (ticker: DX9) with a "strong buy" rating. The target price is set to 37.5p.
In a research note published this morning, the analyst
mentions that several clinical papers published on the company's CardioQ device, which is a heart monitor, demonstrate the device's efficacy, safety and accuracy. CardioQ is gaining sales momentum in the UK domestic market, the analyst says. Deltex Medical (LSE: DEMG.L - news) s SupraQ device is in the late-stage development phase and has the potential to change the haemodyna

Got back into Deltex today at 24.82p. Orders are now coming in and more importantly the treatment and their system now has the backing in a Government white-paper. More solid news than last year and a lower sp.

Sorry, andysmith it is NOT a government white paper.
Look at http://www.deltexmedical.com/press_releases.php
The paper is by a group of senior doctors. It is significant, but it's nothing to do with the government. Unforthnately Shares magazine got it wrong. How on earth they did this I don't know. The article (page 11, 30th June) also mentions Charles Stanley who happens to be the house broker. If Shares spoke to Charles Stanley they would certainly have found out that it wasn't a white paper. So maybe Charles Stanely said that it wasn't a white paper but Shares weren't listening. Alternatively, Charles Stanley didn't know, which is appalling, as Charles Stanley are the house broker for Deltex and they should know what's going on with Deltex.
The paper by the senior doctors is still good news as it means that there is strong support from doctors in the NHS for Deltex.
The news from First Berlin is excellent. The fact that it's German is also interesting - it's a hint of Deltex's international appeal.
I'm still confident of Deltex - it just needs some patience.

More research news today. This company keeps getting rave reviews yet the price has faded away in the last few months. I think it is cheap just now and may add. Anyone else in Deltex?

Yep,, I'm in... have been for the past 9 months. Like an idiot I got in at 28p cos they were tipped all over the place as being a good buy... more like a goodbye to half my investment.. !
Anyway I'm in now so still looking for good things... Think the SP has drifted down as there have been no contracts, deals, sales announcements.. it's been very quiet... hopefully the research news will help NHS and other bodies to make their mind up about buying some .. and quick !

Good results, better than I expected. As thought its the NHS being short of cash and being shortsighted re the slow take up. With the cash burn position and the increased interest, this must soon break out of its steady trickle. Once it does the flood gates will open. IMO of course.

Agree... thought all along that the NHS had enormous financial debts/overspends and that it will take along time for NHS to recognise the benefits and organise itself to buy monitiors etc., Hopefully the private hospitals can bridge the gap.
Better results than I expected... with a successful placing.. they now have plenty of funds available..
I'm still staying in... don't expect much to happen to the sp. However, if we do get frequent good substantial sales come through quickly than I think sp will rocket skyhigh! (imho)

Always good when directors etc choose shares in lieu of cash.
Deltex Medical Group plc (the 'Company'), the AIM quoted haemodynamic monitoring
company, announces that it has today issued a total of 368,621 new ordinary
shares in the Company to certain non-executive directors and certain advisors to
the Company at a price of 19.00 pence per share.

I hope it's good !
We haven't yet got any frequent good substantial sales news come through so sp is languishing in already a very poor market sentiment backdrop.
Need to be doubly patient in this very boring period.

skyhigh,
Also as I understand it as its shares taken and not directly purchased, such things as closed periods, dealing with insider knowledge etc ( hope its a deal round that perverbial corner ) don't come into it.
They also took the shares at a premium to current price, also a good sign.

Hi all,
I held these shares in vain for ages in 2004/5. In my opionion the products brilliant but the management have never managed to sell it. Shame really theres so many peices of technology around for medical science that never actully take off... It seams the government would rather spend money stock piling drugs (such as the bird flu one recently reported) than spend on proven technology!!. All the best to everyone holding this share..

Skyhigh - This is very small director deal for 5220. I suspect its intention is to attract furter small investors to the company. I would only realy be interested in transactions of 50K or more (250,000 shares) fron the board.
